       ALi IDE and Cache Utility Setup Program

INTRODUCTION
------------
This setup program installs ALi IDE and Cache Utility for Win95/98/ME. 
ALi IDE and Cache Utility facilitates end user's setting-up of both IDE 
device configuration and optimizing IDE hard disk access performance 
according to user's requirements.

1. System Requirements

1. Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME.
2. ALi ATA66/100 supporting chipsets(M1543C-B1, M1535, M1535D, 
   M1535+, M1535D+).

2. Installation Instructions
----------------------------
  1. Run setup.exe to install ALi IDE and Cache Utility. 
  2. During the installation process, it will list all the IDE devices 
     of your system.  If that device has DMA features, you can choose 
     to enable it and get a better system performance.

3. Uninstallation Instructions
------------------------------
Use setup utility (Windows 95/98/ME):
  Run setup.exe and select Uninstall IDE and Cache Utility.

Use control panel (Windows 95/98):
  1. Open "Control Panel" folder
  2. Invoke "Add/Remove Programs" icon
  3. Choose "ALi IDE Utility" item 
  4. Click on "Add/Remove" button to remove drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
