Release memo for SBT2 BMC Firmware Version 01.19 and PIA Update.

1. Release data

   SBT2FWPIA. zip is the data to update the BMC Firmware and PIA for Baytown

2. Changes between SBT2 BMC Firmware version 01.17 and version 01.19
  - Modified DCS 13059 and DCS13063 issue (DCS is internal bug tracking database).
 
3. Upgrade Instructions
3.1 Creating a Bootable Floppy
    You must use a DOS system to create the bootable floppy.
    1)Place an unformatted floppy diskette in the floppy drive and format
      the floppy using the /S option. example: "format a: /s"
    2)Alternatively, place a formatted floppy in the floppy drive and use
      the "sys" command. example: "sys a:"
    3)Place a ANSI.sys file in the root directory.
      example: "C:\> copy DOS\ANSI.sys a:\"

3.2 Making a  Upgrade Floppy
    1)Follow the instructions (above) for creating a bootable floppy to
      create a bootable floppy diskette.
    2)Insert the bootable floppy into drive a:.
    3)Extract the contents of the ZIP file onto the bootable floppy.

3.3 Upgrading
    1)Place the bootable floppy containing the Firmware and PIA into drive
      a: of the system that you want to upgrade and boot the system while
      the floppy diskette is in the drive.
    2)Current firmware information is displayed. Enter the ESC key.
    3)Firmware update menu is displayed. Select the "Update Firmware".
    4)The following message is displayed. Select the "Excute".

      Are you sure that you want to update the firmware?

    5)This update processing takes few minutes.  Never turn off the system
      during the update processing. The following message appears when the
      update processing is finished. Enter the any key.
 
      Entering any key, DC is turned off.
      Please turn DC on, after wait a few seconds.
    
    6)You can confirm whether update was done successfully or not, by the messages
     in BIOS bootstrap:

        Base Board Management Controller
                :                          :
        IPMI Version    :1.0     Firmware version :01.19

       Check the Firmware Version written.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
