Modem installation

1.  Hardware installation

1. Hardware installation

Turn off your computer before installing the internal modem card. 

2. Installation under Windows NT 4.0/5.0


* Open the "control panel" and select the "modem" icon. Click Add button to add modem.
* Click the check box, "Don't detect my modem..." and press "Next" button.
* Presses the "Have disk" button and press "OK."
* Select modem type from list box and press "Next."
* Select Com port(COM2, for example) and press "Next."
* Press "Finish" button.


The driver will be installed. When the installation has been successful the dialogue box modem Settings will be displayed. In the next dialogue box you will be instructed to reboot your computer.

After the next start of Windows NT 4.0 the driver will be loaded automatically.


3. Installation under Windows 95 & Windows 98

After the installation of the modem it will be detected as a new Plug and Play device when the computer is started again.

* On the New Hardware Found window select the "Next" button.
* On the dialogue box Install from Disk insert the filename "tmdmodem.inf" and full path in the field "Copy files from..."
* In the next dialogue box, insert Windows 95 CD-ROM into CD-ROM driver to copy other files. 
The driver software will be installed on your system.
Reboot your computer. During the next start of Windows 95 the driver will be loaded automatically.


4. Support Modem Models:

Support model list: F400XRSP, F400XRSD, F560IR, F560XR, and F560XD.  Include both internal and
external models.

Note: Model F560XD supports both V90 and K56Flex protocols.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
