There are three files in the TriCoder USB Rescue Set: 1. This README file 2. trcdr.inf 3. trcdr.sys Instructions: Unpack the zip file into a NEW folder on your computer. Call it something like "TrCdr Driver". Attach the TriCoder to a USB port and turn it on. Follow the Instructions below that correspond to your operating system for Manually Updating the TriCoder USB Driver WARNING: If you update this driver, you MUST be running these versions of the following applications: TriCoder Firmware Loader: v. 2.05 or above TriCoder Utilities: v. 2.15 or above Virtual TriCoder: v. 1.40 or above KwikCheck In/Out: v.1.02 or above KwikAsset: v. 1.1.5a or above KwikCountEX: v. 2.06a or above Manually Updating Tricoder USB Driver on Windows XP 1. Plug the Tricoder into the computer's USB port and turn it on. Make sure it is in High Speed mode. 2. In Windows, go to: Start | Control Panel. 3. If you are set for "Classic" view, double-click the "System" icon. If set for "Category" view, click "Performance and Maintenance" then click "System". 4. Click the Device Manager option in the Hardware tab. 5. Now select the View "Devices By Type" option in the View menu. 6. Click the "+" sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". 7. Right-Click on the TriCoderUSB icon and select "Properties". 8. Click the Update Driver button in the Driver tab. 9. In DriverWizard: Select "Install from a List or Specific Location" and click on the Next button. 10. Select "Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install." option by clicking on the appropriate radio button. 11. Click the Next button. 12. Check the "Have Disk" button. 13. In the "Install from Disk" dialog, click the browse button and select the directory where you unpacked the files. 14. Choose the trcdr.inf file and click "Open" 15. When you get back to the "Install from Disk" dialog, click "OK". 16. Click the Next button. 17. Click the Finish button. 18. Reboot. Manually Updating Tricoder USB Driver on Windows 2000 1. Plug the Tricoder into the computer's USB port and turn it on. Make sure it is in High Speed mode. 2. In Windows, go to: Start | Settings | Control Panel | System. 3. Click the Device Manager option in the Hardware tab. 4. Now select the View Devices By Type option (should be the default). 5. Click the "+" sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" 6. Right-click on "TriCoder" and select "Properties" 7. Select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver" 8. Click the "Next" button in the Device Driver Wizard 9. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)." and click "Next" 10. Select "Specify a location" and click "Next" 11. Browse to the directory where you unpacked the files and click "OK" 12. Choose "Install one of the other drivers" at the bottom of the dialog and click "Next" 13. In the next dialog, choose "TriCoderUSB", NOT "TRICODERUSB", and click "Next" 14. When it asks you to insert disk, click "OK" 15. Browse to the directory where you unpacked the files and click "OK" 16. Click "Finish" Manually Updating Tricoder USB Driver on Windows 95/98/Me 1. Plug the Tricoder into the computer's USB port and turn it on. Make sure it is in High Speed mode. 2. In Windows, go to: Start | Settings | Control Panel | System. 3. Now select the View Devices By Connection option. 4. For USB devices, navigate to Standard PC | PCI bus | PCI To USB Universal Host Controller | USB Root Hub | TricoderUSB. 5. Select Properties. 6. Click the Update Driver button in the Driver tab. 7. Click the Next button. 8. Check the Only Specify A Location check-box. 9. Click the Next button. 10. In the input box that is displayed, enter the path where the driver files (including this README.TXT) have been extracted. 11. Click the OK button. 12. Click the Next button. 13. Click the Finish button. 14. Reboot. (First Time) Installing The Tricoder High Speed USB Driver (Win 98/2000/XP): 1. Plug the Tricoder into the computer's USB port and turn it on. Make sure it is in High Speed mode. 2. Windows Found New Hardware Wizard will appear. Follow its instructions; when asked, specify the location of the TRICODER.INF file in the folder where you unzipped the new driver files. 3. If the Windows Found New Hardware Wizard does not appear, install your driver manually: (a) Open Windows Device Manager - Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Choose the Hardware tab and click on the Device Manager button. (b) Select your device in the Device Manager list, open it, choose the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button. (c) Follow the instructions of the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard that opens; when asked, specify the location of the TRICODER.INF file in the folder where you unzipped the new driver files.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
