Introduction --------------- DYMO is proud to present an all new version of it's DYMO Label Software, Version 6.1! This new and improved software now makes it easier than ever to create, save and print labels on your DYMO LabelWriter printer. We are pleased that you have chosen our LabelWriter product and we are confident that it can satisfy all your label printing needs! ------------------------ 2. New Software Features ------------------------ Among the improvements in DLS 6.1 are: A. A new user interface DLS now sports a more 'modern' looking user interface and includes a sidebar panel to make it easier to access the most frequently used functions in the program. It also includes a a fully integrated Address Book which replaces the ListManager from previous versions of DLS software. B. On-label text editing Version 6.1 now supports the entering and editing of text right on your labels. There is no longer any need to access a separate window to enter or modify your text and you can now preview your changes instantly! It also includes the ability to apply formatting on a line-by-line or even character-by-character basis. C. Improved handling of label files DLS 6 eliminates the need to worry about different file formats for different purposes by consolidating several of the old file types into one. It also sports an 'intelligent' Label Files list which automatically displays your most frequently used labels and hides those which are not frequently used. D. Smart Paste functionality You can now easily print labels by copying multiple entries from a word processor, spreadsheet, or other type of program using the Smart Paste feature in DLS 6. There are also many other improvements and enhancements in DLS 6 not listed here. We are confident that this is the best version of DLS yet! ---------------------- 3. Word Macro Security ---------------------- When you start Word the first time after you install the Word Add-In, a Macro Warning dialog box may appear asking if you wish to trust macros from DYMO Corporation. This dialog box is displayed because of your Macro Security setting within Word. In the warning dialog box, select the "Always trust macros from this source" check box, and then select the "Enable Macros" check box. The Word Add-In will now work properly and you will not see this warning again. -------------------------------------------- 4. Installing the LabelWriter over a network -------------------------------------------- When the DLS software installation program prompts you for the connection type, select Network. You can then browse your network to locate the shared LabelWriter printer. Refer to the DYMO Label Software manual for more information on networking a LabelWriter printer. ------------------------------------ 5. Upgrading from a previous version ------------------------------------ If you are upgrading from a previous version of LabelWriter software all of your old label files and list files should continue to work with the new DLS 6.1. You will be able to open and save any files created with older versions of DLS. However, you will NOT be able to create a label with DLS 6.1 and open it with a previous version of the software. ------------------------------------- 6. Sharing the DYMO Label Software Address Book ------------------------------------- The DYMO Label Software Address Book may be located anywhere on a network. However, to use the Address Book, each user must have read/write access to it. If you wish to keep your Address Book data on a network server, make sure each client computer has read/write access to the folder and file where you have place the Address Book. NOTE: The Address Book may not be shared simultaneously among multiple users on a network, regardless of access rights. If you wish to allow multiple users to access the same address data, each user must have a local copy of the data which only that user can access. *********** END OF FILE ***********Download Driver Pack
