* 1.  OVERVIEW
************************************************************
There are two steps to installing the USB 2.0 driver for
the Intel(R) ICH4 EHCI.  The first step is downloading
the Readme.txt and USB2.inf from ARMS.  The second step 
is obtaining the USB 2.0 drivers from Microsoft.  This 
Readme will go through the process for both of these steps.

* 2.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

1.  The software included with this distribution package is 
    designed to operate with the following chipset 
    configurations:

       Intel(R) ICH4                        

2.  USB 2.0 will only be supported in the following OSes:

	Windows* 2000	
	Windows* XP*

* 4.  INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION

1.  INF for USB 2.0 controller
DOWNLOAD
  Go to site http://www.intel.com/platformsw
  Accept the terms.
  In right hand column, 'Find Software by Product' choose
Brookdale-G, then click 'Go!' button.
  Select 'System Drivers/Utilities'
  Download INF from USB 2.0 driver section.     

2.  Microsoft USB 2.0 drivers
DOWNLOAD
  Members of the Microsoft* USB 2.0 Beta Program
will have the drivers emailed to them.  If you (OEM)
are not a member of the Beta Program, please send
one person's contact information (Full name, email,
phone, OEM) to brian.m.dees@intel.com.  He will get
the addition to the Beta list and the drivers will
be emailed to the contact.

3.  INSTALLATION
  Unzip the USB 2.0 drivers from Microsoft into a folder.
Copy the USB2.inf from ARMS into the same folder, choose YES
to overwrite the existing USB2.inf.
  Open Device Manager and open the properties for the 
USB 2.0 host controller.  Select 'Update Driver'.  Point 
the installer to the folder with the USB 2.0 drivers.  It
should select the USB2.inf and then install the system files.
The host controller should be installed correctly when 
Device Manager is updated after the install.

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE COPYING, INSTALLING OR USING.

You may not export the Software in violation of applicable export laws and regulations. Intel is not obligated under any other agreements, unless they are in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Intel.

GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software is provided with "RESTRICTED RIGHTS." How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
