STAv1.3.1-USB (Linux Port) Release Notes 1 Overview This release is an update Release of the USB Driver ported to Linux with the Japan 5GHz changes to the 1.3.0 Driver. This release supports the UB51/52 hardware. This release has been through the testing listed in the Testing section below. This release supports the features listed in the Features section. 2 Driver This release supports the standard Wireless Tools v26 for the configuration and Statistics. This release has been tested on: Redhat 9.0 Distribution with kernel version 2.4.20 Suse 9.0 Distribution with kernel version 2.6.4 Fedora Core 3.0 Distribution with Kernel version 2.6.9 3 Installer This release is provided in 3 different RPMs. They are: - LinuxUsbBin2.4-1.3.1-5.i386.rpm: This is a complete binary rpm for the 2.4 kernel. - LinuxUsbBin2.6-1.3.1-5.i386.rpm: This is a complete binary rpm for the 2.6 kernel. 4 Testing The following testing has been done: - Global Mode testing for Japan 5GHz. - Installation testing 5 Limitations and Known Issues - It has been noticed that on some laptops this driver has not showed the scan list. - This driver does not have facility to write the EEPROM to change the regulatory domains, due to this reason the write protected USB cards can not be made writeable and will not be able to update the recent Japan 5GHz register changes on the old cards that are in field. Known Issues: - This release does not support CCX1.0 or CCX2.0. - There are some performance issues in 11g and 11a mode.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
