Release Notes July 9, 2001. This document is for the Linksys Wireless Access Point (WAP11) firmware upgrade to 1.4f and driver upgrade to 1.0.0.4. What's New ------------- New features added to the product: - Wireless Bridging of Physically Separated LANs - MAC Address Filtering - IP Filtering - SNMP Configuration Utility Password Protection - DHCP Client - 128-bit WEP Firmware Upgrade --------------------------------- In order to upgrade the firmware for the WAP11, please be aware that you must first remove the old USB driver and install the driver version 1.0.0.4. If the WAP11 USB driver upgrade is not performed before the WAP11 firmware upgrade, the Wireless Network Access Point may become inoperative. Please refer to the ReadMe.txt file for instructions on removing the old USB driver, and upgrading the firmware. Please check with the user guide for more information regarding the installation of a driver. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
