Overview

This driver is for the E-3400 (Corfu 2) computer with the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio chipset for the Windows 2000 operating system.  These drivers are backward compatible with the original E-3400 (Corfu).   

Identification

1.  The system must contain the following chipset:

          SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio 

If the sound drivers have been previously installed, the sound chipset can be identified in the Device Manager under the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section.

2.  Supported operating systems- 
        
    Microsoft Windows 2000

Installation

1. The operating system must be installed on the system prior to the installation of these drivers. 

2. This installation procedure is specific only to the version of driver and installation files included in this release.

3. The file 7509769.exe is a self-extracting file that when executed will extract all files to "C:\cabs\7509769" on the hard drive.

4. Once Extracted, double click on the SETUP.EXE located in the folder titled "7509769".  The Setup Program will begin.  

5. Continue through the installation process and provide the appropriate responses when prompted.  On completion of the installation, you will be asked to reboot the system.  

6. The driver files will now be installed.

Un-installation

1. Click on the "Start" button and select "Settings".  In the Settings menu, click on "Control Panel".
2. In the Control Panel, select and double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
3. The Add/Remove Programs window will display most of the programs installed on the computer. 
4. Locate and click on the program titled: "SoundMAXWDM".  Then click on the "Change/Remove" button.
5. In the Confirm File Deletion window, click on the "Yes" button.
6. In the Remove Programs From Your Computer window, click on the "OK" button.
7. In the Add/Remove Programs window, click on the "Close" button.
8. Click on the "Start" button.
9. In the Start Menu, select and click on "Shutdown...".
10. In the Shut Down Windows dialogue box, select "Restart" and click on the "OK" button.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
