This readme file is used to provide the information of VIA VT6410 Software Package
VIA VT6410 IDE RAID is a RAID controller that support RAID 0, 1, 0+1 and JBOD. It
supports 4 IDE hard disk drives maximum. This "VIA VT6410 Software Package" is used
to install the drivers and utility which are needed to use the VIA VT6410 IDE RAID
controller.

1) System Requirements
* This package should be installed on the VIA VT6410 Controller that integrates
on mainboard.
* System BIOS must integrate VIA VT6410 RAID BIOS.
* Maximum supports 4 hard disk drives which support LBA address
* Supports the following Operating System.

3) Install drivers and utility

** Driver Installation **

Click the SETUP.EXE program and then it will install the
"VIA VT6410 IDE RAID Device Driver" and Utility automatically
on your operating system.

** Driver Uninstallation **
***************************
Click the SETUP.EXE program and choose "Remove" to remove
"VIA VT6410 IDE RAID Device Driver" and Utility from your operating system.
4) Insatll Operating System into RAID
1. Install Windows 98SE or Me
* Make sure your system BIOS integrated the VIA VT6410 RAID BIOS and
executes it when POST.
* Make sure the RAID is your first hard disk drive (C:\)
* Install OS
* Run setup.exe after OS installed.
2. Install Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP
* Copy all files and directories to a floppy disk.

* Boot system from OS installing CD-ROM.
* Press "F6" when OS installer starts running.
* Insert floppy disk.
* Choose the OS device driver which you want to load.
* Install OS
* Run setup.exe after OS installed.
5) Notes
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
