Windows 98 Setup

(1)  Start up your computer.  After Windows 98 is up and running,
     put the driver disk of PCMCIA Fast Ethernet into drive A:.

(2)  Insert PCMCIA Fast Ethernet Card into PCMCIA slot.

(3)  When the Add New Hardware Wizard window appears, click on the
     "Next" button.

(4)  When Windows 98 asks "What do you want Windows to do ?", just
     click the "Next" button.

(5)  Select "Floppy disk drives" item and click the "Next" button.
     Windows 98 will check the disk that is in the floppy drive
     for the PCMCIA Fast Ethernet Card network drivers.

(6)  When the Fast Ethernet PC Card message appears,
     click the "Next" button.  Windows 98 will begin copying files.

(7)  You may be asked to supply your original Windows 98 CD-ROM.

(8)  Type in the path name A:\ and click OK for driver path.

(9)  Click the "Finish" button.

(10) Restart the computer

(11) Go to Control Panel and select the "network" icon.

(12) Add the Client, Protocol or Services you needed.

(13) Restart the Computer.



Windows 95 Setup

  There are currently two versions of Windows 95:

  - the original release (version A)
  - a later release (also known as OSR2, or version B)

  The installation procedure for the network driver will
  vary slightly depending on the version of Windows 95
  that you are using.


Windows 95 Version B Setup

(1)  Start up your computer.  After Windows 95 is up and running,
     put the driver disk of PCMCIA Fast Ethernet into drive A:.

(2)  Insert PCMCIA Fast Ethernet Card into PCMCIA slot.

(3)  When the Device Driver Wizard window appears, click
     the "Next" button. Windows 95 will automatically check the
     disk that is in the floppy drive for the PCMCIA Fast Ethernet
     Card network drivers.

(4)  When the Fast Ethernet PC Card message appears,
     click "Finish" button.  Windows 95 will begin copying files.

(5)  You may be asked to supply your original Windows 95 CD-ROM.

(6)  Type in the path name A:\ and click OK.

(7)  Complete the Window 95 PCMCIA installation procedures and go to
     Control Panel and select the "network" icon.

(8)  Add the Client, Protocol or Services you needed.

(9)  Restart the Windows 95 system.


Windows 95 Version A Setup

(1)  Start up your computer.  After Windows 95 is up and running,
     put the driver disk of PCMCIA Fast Ethernet into drive A:.

(2)  Insert PCMCIA Fast Ethernet Card into PCMCIA slot.

(3)  In Windows 95 "New Hardware Found" dialog box, select "Driver from
     disk prodived by hardware manufacturer".

(4)  Type in the path name A:\ and click OK.

(5)  Complete the Window 95 PCMCIA installation procedures and go to
     Control Panel and select the "network" icon.

(6)  Add the Client, Protocol or Services you needed.

(7)  Restart the Windows 95 system.



How to update the driver:

Before update the driver please plug the PCMCIA card into PCMCIA slot.
There are 2 steps of procedures to update a LAN driver of Win 95/98.
  .Delete device registration
  .Delete the Driver file


1. Delete device registration
   1.1 Double click the "System" Icon in "Control panel" Window.
   1.2 Press the "Device Manager" button.
   1.3 Double click "Network Adapters" to list the devices.
   1.4 Select the device and press "Remove" button.
   1.5 Press "OK" to confirm device removal.


2. Delete the driver file
   2.1 In DOS command mode, change directory to "\windows\system"
       if your Win 95/98 is installed in "\windows".
   2.2 Delete the LAN driver LE100NDS.SYS.

Shut down the machine and restart it. Follow the installation procedures to
install the new driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
