   If Windows NT does not copy files during the installation, please
   goto "windows' directory/inf" and delete unused "oem*.inf" files,
   then try again.

1. Modem installation
---------------------
   Please make sure that your WinNT 4.0 is updated to the latest Service Pack
   and the WinNT 4.0 Plug & Play is enabled before installing the driver for 
   MS5000 PnP Modem Card. 

   1.   NT 4.0 will automatically detect the MS5000 PnP Modem Card
        and displays the "New Hardware Found" dialog box.

   2.   Insert the installation diskette provided into either drive
        A or B.
   
   3.   Select the "Driver from disk provided by Hardware manufacturer
        option and click OK.

   4.   Type A:\ (or B:\) in the combo box and click OK.


   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP modem
   device (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed in
   your system). To alter the resource configurations, go to Control Panel
   - Ports - Setting and click on "Advanced" button followed by the
   Resource tab. You can change the settings for both comport and interrupt.
   For choosing interrupts, you can select IRQ 3,4,5,10,11,15 depending
   which are available.

2. Setup NT in PnP
------------------
   1.Locate the "Pnpisa.inf" file in the Drvlib\Pnpisa\x86 folder on 
   the Windows NT 4.0 CD-ROM. 

   2.Use the right mouse button to click the "Pnpisa.inf" file, and 
   then click Install on the menu that appears. 

   3.Restart the computer.

3. Uninstall Modem
------------------
   1.Go to Control Panel and click on "PCtel Port" CPL.

   2.Click on "Uninstall" botton.

   3.Restart the computer.

4. Modem AT Command Set
-----------------------
   The AT Command Instructions Set for the Modem hardware is now available 
   in Microsoft Word format (ATCOMSET.DOC). It is available in the software 
   diskette provided from manufacturer.  This document has also been copied 
   into \Winnt directory during installation.

Others:

   1.  Windows NT 4.0 does not support Fax and Voice operation.

   2.  The default for the Country Setting is USA. If you need to set
       the modem to a different country, please re-run the SETCTRY.EXE 
       utility in diskette 1 and choose the new country. Please re-start
       the System for the new setting to take effect. 

   3.  The driver support K56FLEX only.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
