======================================================================= ASUS V3500 Series Readme File for Windows NT ======================================================================= Operating systems supported --------------------------- Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server (with Service Pack 3 or greater) Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation (with Service Pack 3 or greater) IMPORTANT for V3500 Series Users: Before Installing, make sure you have installed NT 4.0 Service Pack 3.0 or greater, otherwise NT 4.0 will hang up when reboot again. ASUS AGP-V3500 series driver support auto installation Display Driver for NT 4.0. After installing ASUS AGP-V3500 display driver, Windows NT 4.0 will default to the 640 x 480 x 256 colors. The procedure below describes how to install ASUS V3500 series display drivers for Windows NT 4.0. Installation Steps ------------------ You can use 3 methods to install Windows NT 4.0 display driver: Suppose the path of your driver CD is "D:\" and Use Windows NT 4.0 as an example. Method 1 (Display property page) 1. Start up Windows NT in VGA mode. 2. Run the Windows NT Display program located in the Control Panel, under "Settings" in the Start menu or right click the mouse button on the desktop and select "Properties" from the popup menu. 3. Select the "Settings" tab. 4. Select "Display Type...". 5. Select "Change..." from the display options. 6. Select "Have Disk..." 7. NT will prompt you for the correct path, enter the path of the driver such as D:\NT40 (assuming your CD-ROM drive is letter D) 8. A list of video adapters will be displayed. Select the ASUS V3500 Series you are using, then click on the "OK" button. 9. Windows NT will once again prompt for confirmation. All appropriate files are then copied to the hard disk. 10. Select "Apply" in Control Panel. Restart Windows NT. Windows NT will start up using the ASUS V3500 Series drivers. 11. NT will boot into a default mode and start the Display applet allowing for mode selection. Method 2 (ASUS Autorun. Quick installation) 1. Start Windows. 2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive. 3. The AutoPlay function of CD-ROM will work and pop up ASUS Autorun window. 4. Select Install V3500 display driver option. 5. Follow the instructions on dialog. Driver will be installed and request for restart. 6. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use. Method 3 (Run ASUS installation program directly) 1. Start Windows. 2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive. 3. Change to "D:\NT40" directory. 4. Run "setup.exe". 5. Follow the instructions. Driver will be installed and request for restarting. 6. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
