From the Program Manager, double click on "Windows NT Setup" in the Main group. 2. Close all open applications. 3. Select "Options/Add/Remove SCSI Adapters..." 4. Click on Add. 5. The "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialog will appear; select "Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)" from the "Adapter:" list box. 6. Next, the "Insert Diskette" dialog box will appear; insert the installtion disk you created into floppy A, change path to \NT351 and then type <Return>. 7. Next, the "Select OEM Option" dialog box will appear; select "Promise ULTRA66 Controller (NT3.51)" and click "OK." 8. Next the "Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialogbox will appear; click on the "Install" button in the dialog box. 9. If installation is successful, the "SCSI Adapter Setup" dialog box will reappear, and "Promise ULTRA66 Controller (NT3.51)" will be listed. 10. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect. After installation, the ULTRA66.SYS file is stored in the <Windows NT directory>\System32\Drivers directory. =========================================================== = WindowsNT 4.0 Installation = =========================================================== 1. Enter Windows NT 4.0 System. 2. Double click the "My Computer" icon on the Desktop. 3. Double click the "Control Panel" icon in "My Computer". 4. Double click the "SCSI Adapters" icon in "Control Panel". 5. Click on the folder tab labeled "Drivers" in "SCSI Adapters". The currently installed SCSI adapter drivers will be listed in the Drivers menu. The display should list the default ATAPI driver, " IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual-channel PCI IDE Controller" 6. Select "Remove" to remove the driver, and then click "Yes" in "Remove" window. 7. Select "Add..." to add a new driver. 8. Insert the installtion disk you created into floppy A, and click "Have Disk" in "Install Driver" window. 9. Change path to the root of floppy A, and click "OK" in "Install From Disk" window. 10. Choose "Promise Technology Inc. Ultra66 IDE Controller" in "Install Driver" and click "OK". 11. Change path to the root of floppy A, and click "Continue" in "Windows NT Setup" window. 12. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
