Installing ESS Audio Drivers for Windows NT 4.0 =========================================== The procedure below describes how to install ESS audio drivers for Windows NT 4.0. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Run the Windows NT "Multimedia" program located in the "Control Panel". (Start-->Settings-->Control Panels-->Multimedia) 2. Select the "Devices" tab. 3. Select "Audio Devices" under "Multimedia Devices" 4. Click "Add..." button. 5. Select "Unlisted or Updated Driver" under "List of Driver". 6. Click "OK" button. 7. NT will prompt you for the correct path ,enter the path of the driver (such as D:\AUDIO\NT40\, which "D:" is your CD-ROM). Also, you may use the "BROWSE" button to locate the correct path. 8. A list of audio drivers will be displayed. Select the one you are using(such as "ES1938/1941/1946 PCI AudioDrive 4.05.06") 9. Click the "OK" button. 10. Windows NT will prompt you to restart. 11. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
