1. GPR400 Installation
----------------------

The Gemplus GPR400 Smart Card Reader is a plug and play device. 

To install it:

 - Insert the GPR400 in a PCMCIA socket.
 - The system launch an installation wizard. 
 - At the prompt, insert this disk in a floppy drive an click "Next".
 - The system locate the installation component on the floppy drive.
 - Click "Finish" to launch the installation. 
 - The system copy the necesary files on your computer and 
   configure your machine for the use of the device.

2. Troubleshooting
------------------

If a previous version of GPR400 drivers is already installed on your machine,
you need to uninstall it.

 - From the explorer, double click on UNINST.EXE   
 - Remove the GPR400.
 - The GPR400 is now uninstalled.

The installation of the GPR400 PC/SC driver can cause troubles with applications 
running with the GEMPLUS API (version 4).

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
