INFRARED DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 95 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Follow Step 1 and Step 2 to install IrDA 3.0 for Windows 95, Fast IR stack,
and additional software to support network.

Step 1. Install the IrDA 3.0 for Windows 95:
1.1  Insert the Notebook Driver & Utility CD-ROM disc.
1.2  From the \irda\win95 directory, run "Setup", then press "Yes" to proceed
     Infrared driver installation.
1.3  Click on "Next" to confirm "Add Infrared Device Wizard".
1.4  Windows 95 will ask you to select the manufacturer of the infrared
     device, click on "Have Disk". 
1.5  Click on "Browse" to locate the Infrared driver from the Driver & 
     Utility CD-ROM disc, the path is "D:\irda\win95\nsc", then click on "OK".
1.6  Click on "OK" to confirm "Install From Disk".
1.7  Select "OEM Laptop Fast Infrared Port", then click on "OK".
1.8  Specify your Windows 95 CD-ROM disc path, then click on "OK".
1.9  Select "Change Settings", then click on "Next".
1.10 Select the configurations of COM, Interrupt Level, and DMA Channel
     based on your Generic Ir Serial Port COM2 setting. The recommended 
     setting is COM2, Interrupt Level 3, DMA Channel 3.
1.11 Select "IBM or TEMIC" in the Dongle Type, then press "Next".
1.12 Select "Use Default Ports" for simulated serial and parallel ports,
     then click on "Next".
1.13 Click on "Finish", then click on "OK" to restart your computer.

Step 2. Install Fast IR stack and additional software to support networking:
2.1  After Windows 95 restarted, double-click on "My Computer", double-click
     on "Control Panel", double-click on "Network".
2.2  Select "OEM Laptop Fast Infrared Port", click on "Properties", then 
     click on "Advanced" tab. Make sure you have values on following
     items: DMA Channel 3, Dongle Type IBM or TEMIC, Interrupt Level 3,
     UartloBaseAddress COM2.
2.3  Highlight "OEM Laptop Fast Infrared Port".
2.4  Click on "Add", select "Protocol", then click on "Add".
2.5  Click on "Have Disk".
2.6  Click on "Browse", select folder "\irda\win95", file name "fastir.inf", then
     click on "OK".
2.7  Click on "OK" to confirm "Install From Disk".
2.8  Click on "OK" to confirm the Fast Infrared Protocol installation,
     then click on "OK".
2.9  Click on on "Identification" tab, and input your computer name and
     workgroup name, then press "OK".  
2.10 Specify your Windows 95 CD-ROM disc path, then click on "OK".
2.11 Click on "Yes" to reboot your Notebook PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
