To reconfigure driver options, you must follow these steps:

1. To unload all instances of the driver, type:

     unload ODIS885.LAN

2. To reload each instance of the driver with the desired option settings, type:

     load ODIS885.LAN slot=<slot number> <options>

3. If the changes made to the load options of one or more load instance are
   permanent, and the driver is loaded automatically at server boot time, you
   must specify these options in the STARTUP.NCF or AUTOEXEC.NCF file.

*************************** Command Line Options ****************************

The ODIS885.LAN driver has some configuration parameters. The configuration
parameters available are: the Slot option, Duplex Support option, and the Speed
option. A short description of each option is provided, as well as the command
line to use, default values, function, and any impact its use may have on your
system. The options described below are used by placing the specified characters
on the load command line for the driver.

If an option is specified but the assignment is not valid, then the default
value is used. During installation, the default settings are all set to
"automatic" for the ODIS885 driver to automatically detect the network setup.
If the default settings run properly on your network, Symbios Logic recommends
that you use the default values. If "automatic" fails to work properly on your
network setup, then alter the automatic setting to correspond with your network
configuration.

Note: No spaces are allowed within specific a command line option, but spaces
      are required between different command line options.

*   *   * Using the Slot Option *   *   *

The slot option specifies which Symbios Logic controller (embedded chip
or host adapter) the current load pertains to. This information is
required to load the driver. If this information is not specified on the
load line, the driver prompts for the slot number.

    Command line option: slot=<option>

    Default value: None

    Valid options: 0-10099

    Function: Specify the slot instance number of the Symbios Logic
    controller the load instance applies to.

    Possible Impact: This information may not be known to the user at
    load/install time.

*   *   * Using the Duplex Support Option *   *   *

This option provides the ability to specify duplex support for your network.
Half duplex allows the network to either transmit or receive data at any given
time, while full duplex allows simultaneous transmitting and receiving of data
at any given time.

    Command line option: duplex=<option>

    Default value: Auto

    Valid options: Full, Half, Auto

    Function: Specify the duplex mode to use.

    Possible Impact: If specified incorrectly, networking may not work.

*   *   * Using the Speed Option *   *   *

Use this option to set the required number of data bits that can be transmitted
across the wire per second (network speed) for your network setup.

    Command line option: speed=<option>

    Default value: Auto

    Valid options: 10, 100, Auto

    Function: Specify the network speed to use.

    Possible Impact: If specified incorrectly, networking may not work.

Note: The Duplex and Speed must match the network settings. For example,
       if the network is 10 megabits per second at half duplex, then the
       adapter must match this setup in order for data to be transmitted or
       received.

       The following example shows how multiple options work on the command
       line:

       slot=4 duplex=full
