* 1.  CONTENTS OF THE DISTRIBUTION PACKAGE
************************************************************
This package contains the Windows95 Retail i810 video driver.  
This is an unaccelerated driver.


The Intel(r) 810 Chipset Video Driver
for Windows95 Retail package contains the following items:

* 2.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
************************************************************


1.  The system must contain one of the following Intel 
chipsets:

          Intel(r) 810 Chipset
      

2.  The following operating system must be installed on the    
system:
        Microsoft Windows95 (Retail, OSR-1)


Please check with your system provider to determine which 
operating system and Intel chipset are used in your system.

* 3.  INSTALLING AND EXECUTING THE SOFTWARE
************************************************************

1.  Check the System Requirements.  Windows95 must be fully 
installed and running on the system prior to running this 
software.

2.  Close any running applications.  You may experience some 
difficulties if other applications are still running.

3.  Run Setup.exe from the CD or floppy installation. 

4.  Follow the screen instructions.

5.  Select OK to restart.

6.  Follow the screen instructions and use default settings 
to complete the setup once the operating system has rebooted.

7.  At this point, the installation of the Intel i810 Windows95 Retail
Video driver is complete.

* 4.  VERIFYING INSTALLATION OF THE SOFTWARE
************************************************************


1.  After re-booting the system

2.  Select "Start"

3.  Select "Settings -> Control Panel"

4.  Run the "Display" applet

5.  If the software/driver is installed correctly, the "Intel 
    Refresh" tab should be visible from the "Display" applet.

6.  Further verify the driver installation by selecting the 
"Settings" tab under the "Display" applet and then select 
"Change display type...".  The "Adapter Type" section should 
show the "Intel 810 Host Integrated Graphics Controller".

* 5.  TROUBLESHOOTING
************************************************************

This section provides troubleshooting information.

How to determine if the Intel 810 Host Integrated Graphics 
Controller Driver is loaded and the hardware has been 
installed
-------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft Windows 95
  Once installation is complete and Windows has restarted you 
  should find the Intel 810 Host Integrated Graphics Controller 
  listed in the Display Adapters section of the Device Manager. 
     
  Double click on the Intel 810 Host Integrated Graphics 
  Controller and verify that the text "This device is working 
  properly." appears in the General Tab. 
  
  Click on the Driver tab and verify that the Driver Date has 
  been set.

* 6.  DE-INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE
************************************************************
Note that this procedure assumes the above installation 
process was successful.

This de-installation procedure is specific only to the 
version of the driver and installation file included in this 
package.  

1.  Close any running applications.

2.  Select My Computer 

3.  Select Control Panel

4.  Run the Display applet

5.  Select the Settings tab

6.  Select Change the display type...

7.  Select the Change button for the Adapter Type

8.  Select the Show All Devices option

9.  Select (Standard Display Types) under the Manufacturers 
    section

10. Select Standard Display Adapter (VGA) and follow the 
    onscreen instructions

11. When prompted, re-boot the system as directed in order
    for the changes to take effect.

* 7.  IDENTIFYING THE SOFTWARE VERSION NUMBER
************************************************************
The software version of each application file can be 
obtained by querying the corresponding file's properties 
under Explorer.

1.  Run the "Windows Explorer" application.

2.  Select any of the application files or driver file 
listed in section 1 above (be sure to note location/path).

3.  Open the File menu.

4.  Select on the Properties item.

5.  Select on the Version tab.

6.  The files's version should be listed in the 'Product 
Version' portion of the dialog.

be governed by the laws of California, excluding its 
principles of conflict of laws and the United Nations 
Convention on Contracts for the Sale of Goods. You may not 
export the Software in violation of applicable export laws 
and regulations. Intel is not obligated under any other 
agreements unless they are in writing and signed by an 
authorized representative of Intel.

GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software is provided with 
"RESTRICTED RIGHTS." Use, duplication, or disclosure by the 
Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in 
FAR52.227-14 and DFAR252.227-7013 et seq. or its successor. 
Use of the Software by the Government constitutes 
acknowledgement of Intel's proprietary rights therein.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
