SiS IDE Driver Installation For Windows 95 & Windows 98

1. Please put SiS IDE Drivers diskette in Floppy drive or
CD-ROM drive.
2. Please run the file "setup.exe" under "Win9x" directory
in SiS IDE Drivers diskette and follow the instructions
to install the SiS IDE Windows 95&98 Driver.
Notice:
* Does SIS IDE driver support for Windows 98 & Windows 95 OSR2 ?
Ans: Yes, but SiS recommand to use Windows 98 & Windows 95 OSr2
default PIO/ DMA driver to get more function supported.
* Under Windows 95, system will hang when accessing IDE
CD-ROM Driver motion happened, such as open "My Computer",
CD-ROM Autoplay ...... etc.
When this situation happened,
SiS suggest remove IDE CD-ROM DOS Driver provided by device
company.
IDE CD-ROM DOS Driver Removing Procedure:
1. Remark or delete "mscdex.exe" command in c:\autoexec.bat.
2. Remark or delete IDE CD-ROM DOS Driver in c:\config.sys.
* In order to access the removable ZIP drive through SiS driver, the fix
disk type in BIOS should be set to "NONE". If your BIOS always
automatically detects the disk type, try inserting a ZIP media into the
ZIP drive when your computer is booting.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
