OmniBook XE Modem Installation If you have installed retail Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT 4.0 and your OmniBook XE contains a built-in Modem, you need to install the Modem drivers. The Modem drivers are contained in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\AUDIO subdirectory. Please refer to the README.TXT in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS directory for installation instructions. Note: If you are accessing the drivers off the Recovery CD for Windows 95/98 HP OmniBook image. There is a separate directory for each operating system under the drivers directory \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95 for Windows 95 and \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN98 for Windows 98.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
