Installing IDE Support

Windows NT 4.0 installs a generic IDE Controller device driver. To increase
performance install the Intel PIIX4 PCI Bus Master IDE Controller driver in
the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\PIIX4 directory on the OmniBook hard drive or
Recovery CD.

System Requirements

*   Windows NT 4.0
* Service Pack 3 or higher

1. Check the System Requirements. Windows NT and Service Pack 3 or higher
must be fully installed and running on the OmniBook prior to installing
    the driver.

2. Close all running applications.

3. Select START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL.

4. Invoke the "SCSI Adapters" applet.

5. Click on the folder tab labeled "Drivers." The currently installed
SCSI adapter drivers will be listed in the Drivers menu.

6. Select the default driver ("IDE CD-ROM (Atapi 1.2) / Dual-Channel PCI IDE")
Then, click "Remove" to remove the driver.

7. Click "Add..." to add a new driver.

8. From the "Install Disk" dialog box, Click "Have Disk".

the installation files. Specify the location of the driver
installation directory when prompted to do so.

10. Click on "Intel PIIX PCI Bus Master IDE Controller" driver and then
     click "Ok".

11. When prompted, reboot the system as directed in order for the changes to
