About VIA 4 In 1:
VIA 4 In 1 driver includes four system drivers to improve the performance and
maintain the stability of system using VIA chipset. These four drivers are:
VIA Registry (ACPI) Driver, VIA AGP VxD driver, VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver
and VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver. For Windows NT users, VIA IDE Bus Mastering
driver is only driver to be installed to your system

VIA Registry (ACPI) Driver is to be installed under Windows. The driver will 
enable VIA Power Management Controller.

VIA AGP VxD Driver is to be installed if you are using and AGP VGA card.
VIAGART.VXD will provide service routines to your VGA driver and interface
directly to hardware, providing fast graphical access.

VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver is used to fixed the compatibility issue for 
IDE devices.

VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver is to be installed under Windows 98 only, it will
fixed PCI IRQ routing sequence.

Setting Up:
        You may Install and Uninstall VIA driver by selecting the proper
        options.

        Step 1: To setup the driver, double click the "SETUP.EXE" icon or run
        "SETUP.EXE" under VIA 4 In 1 Driver directory.
        Step 2: Bypass the "Welcome" dialog by clicking "Next"
        Step 3: In "Select Component" dialog, choose driver(s) you wish to
                install by clicking the check box of each driver. Selected
                driver(s) will display tick(s).
                After selecting proper driver(s), click next
        Step 4: Driver options select
            "VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver dialog": 
                Install, Uninstall 
		Enable/Disable DMA Mode
            "VIA_GART AGP Driver":
                Install VIA AGP VxD in turbo mode, Install VIA AGP VxD in
                Normal Mode, Uninstall
            "VIA Chipset Functions' Registry":
                Install, Uninstall
            "VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver"
                Install, Uninstall
        Step 5: Reboot for drivers to take effect.

Special Note:(For WinFast VGA AGP users only)
WinFast AGP VGA drivers is bundled with VIA VGA VxD. For users who use
WinFast AGP VGA, we suggest you to download the driver from WinFast Web site.
If you do not have access to Internet, we suggest that you install WinFast
driver before install VIA AGP VxD Driver.

Customize installing drivers (for MB Manufacturer)
Drivers to be install to system can be modified to individual's requirement,
using "INSTALL.DAT".

To enable customization feature, simply set (equate) "CUSTOMIZE" to 1.
To disable Customization feature, set "CUSTOMIZE" to 0.

The following describe the functions and usage of the switches in "INSTALL.DAT"

	"CUSTOMIZE"	0: Disable customization feature, default drivers
			   installation setting in use.
			1: Enable customization feature, SETUP will not detect
			   OS Windows 95 /98 (except NT). The installation
			   setting will be as specified in "INSTALL.DAT"
	"IDEBUS"	0: Disable Bus Master PCI IDE driver install option
			1: Enable BUS Master PCI IDE driver install option
	"IDEDEF"	0: Bus Master PCI IDE driver default OFF
			1: Bus Master PCI IDE driver default ON
	"SETDMA"	0: Disable "SETDMA" utility tool install option
			1: Enable "SETDMA" utility tool install option
	"DMADEF"	0: Set default DMA Mode option OFF
			1: Set default DMA Mode option ON
	"AGPVXD"	0: Disable AGP VxD driver install option
			1: Enable AGP VxD driver install option
	"PCIIRQ"	0: Disable PCI IRQ Miniport driver install option
			1: Enable PCI IRQ Miniport driver install option
	"VIAREG"	0: Disable Functions' Registry install option
			1: Enable Functions' Registry install option

Note: Customization features for VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver will be added
      in later version(s).

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
