VIA Service Pack
----------------------

VIA Service Pack includes 4 system drivers which when installed will improve performance as well as maintain the stability of a system that uses the VIA 693/596 or 693/686 chipset. The 4 system drivers are:

1. AGP VxD Driver
2. VIA Chipset Functions' Registry
3. VIA Bus Master IDE Driver
4. VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver

You must install the first 2 drivers (AGP VxD Driver and VIA Chipset Functions' Registry). These drivers will appear when you click "VIA Service Pack" in the Main Board Utility CD screen or double-click "autorun" in the root directory of the CD.

The "VIA Bus Master IDE Driver" and "VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver" drivers should be installed manually, only when needed. These drivers are contained in the "IDEDRV" and "IRQDRV" directory respectively.

For detailed information, please read carefully the drivers' "readme". You will find the "readme" when you install the VIA Service Pack.

Hardware Doctor for Windows 95/98/NT4.0
------------------------------------------------------

Hardware Doctor(R) is a self-diagnostic utility for PCs. This version must be used with Winbond(R) W83781D IC series products. It protects the PC by monitoring several critical conditions such as the power supply's voltage, speed of the CPU & chassis fans, as well as the temperature of the CPU and system. Monitoring these conditions are important to the entire operation of the system as errors may
result to permanent damage to the PC. Once a condition runs out of its range, a warning message will pop-up reminding you to perform the proper "treatment".

To install, click the "Hardware Doctor" button in the Main Board Utility CD screen. Please refer to "readme.txt" in the "\HWDoctor" directory.

------------------

This CD includes english and chinese user's manuals. To view the manual:

1. Click "User's Manual" in the autorun screen (Main Board Utility CD).

2. Click the manual you wish to view. Its English or Traditional Chinese version will appear; depending on the language of the operating system you are using. If you are using a Traditional Chinese operating system, the Traditional Chinese user's manual will appear.

Note:
You must have Acrobat Reader installed in your English operating system in order to view the English user's manual. If Acrobat Reader has not been installed, it will automatically be installed once you click on the manual you wish to view. The manual will then appear on the screen.

The Traditional Chinese user's manual uses the DynaDoc(TM) reader. Unlike Acrobat Reader, you do not need to install the DynaDoc(TM) reader in order to view the manual.
