I. SD Memory Card Description SD Memory Card (Secure Digital Memory Card) is a Flash-Based memory card that is specifically designed to meet the security, capacity, performance and environment requirements inherent in newly emerging audio and video consumer electronic devices. The SD Memory Card will include a copyright protection mechanism that complies with the security of the SDMI standard and will be faster and capable for higher Memory capacity. The SD Memory Card security system uses Mutual authentication and a "new cipher algorithm" to protect from illegal usage of the card content. A none secured access to the user's own content is also available. The physical form factor, pin assignment and data transfer protocol are forward compatible with the MultiMediaCard with some additions. For further information please check www.sdcard.org. II. To Install SD Reader Driver in Windows 2000 system 1. Properly install the SD reader on the SD port before start the Windows system. 2. As the Windows system starts, a "New Hardware" notice will first show on the screen. "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog window will pop up to guide the user through the installation. Click "Next" to process to the next step 3. "Add New Hardware Wizard" will then ask the user to choose two options: 1. Search for the best driver for your device. 2. Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want. Select the first option, 1. Search for the best driver for your device, then click "Next" to process to the next step. 4. In this step the Wizard will ask the user to select the location for the driver that needed to install SD reader. Select the last option, "Specify a location:", then type or browse the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\Winbond\SD\Win2K to the driver. 5. Select the SD driver under the CD-ROM in the new pop up window of "Browse for Folder". Click "OK" to confirm the location. 6. Select "Next" to process to the final step. As the wizard process complete the installation, click "Finish" to complete the installation.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
