Installing and Running INGRP9KDRV
---------------------------------
The Intergraph P9000 display driver utilizes the Diamond Viper P9000
display adapter present on the Intergraph TD platforms. This driver
will not run on the Intergraph 433 or 466 machines since these machines
do not have the Diamond Viper P9000 graphics subsystem.

Some TD2 and TD3 machines contain Weitek P9000 display adapter and some
TD4 and TD5 machines contain GLZ display adapters.

See manifest.txt for list of files.

To retrieve this version of the Intergraph P9000 display driver, use the
floppy provided or insert a blank formatted floppy into drive A: and copy
all files listed within manifest.txt onto the floppy.

WINDOWS NT SETUP - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
 -------------------------------------------
 1) Log into the system as Administrator.

 2) To select the Intergraph G90 display driver, click the right mouse
button in the desk top and select "Properties" in the pop-up menu
to activate the "Display Properties" dialog.

 3) Select the "Settings" tab.

 4) Select the "Display Type..." button.

 5) Select the "Change..." button beside the Adapter Type string.

 6) Insert your diskette with the above files on it into the floppy
drive and select "Have Disk..." from the "Change Display" dialog.

 7) At the "Install From Disk" dialog, select "OK". If you are not
loading the drivers from floppy, you may enter the path for an
    alternate source at this point.

 8) At this point you will see the "Change Display" dialog with
"Intergraph P9000" followed by a version number highlighted.
Select "OK" to install this driver.

 9) The next dialog will warn you that you are about to install a
third party driver. Select "Yes" to continue.

10) The next dialog you will see is entitled "Display Types - Copying
Files". This dialog just displays the progress of the install.

11) A dialog box should appear telling that the drivers were
    successfully installed. Select "OK."

12) Select "Close" from the "Display Type" dialog.

13) Select "Close" at the bottom of the "Display Properties" dialog.

14) A final dialog box pops up at this point with the message that
the computer must be restarted before the new settings will take
    effect. Select "No".

15) Restart the "Display" applet and select the "Monitor Type"
tab. Make sure the correct monitor type for your system is
    selected and select "OK".

16) Restart your system. Remember to eject any floppy disk that may be
in the disk drive before system restart. The Intergraph G90 driver
    will load during system boot.

17) Following the system shutdown and subsequent logon, a dialog
will appear stating that the current settings are invalid.
This dialog appears the first time you logon every time you
change the display driver. Select OK and configure the
    display settings as desired.

18) If the driver has never been installed before, the driver will
come up at a default of 640 x 480. You may change the settings
from "Settings" page of the "Display" applet.

NOTE: After the system reboots, if the monitor is out of sync,
boot VGA, select a resolution and refresh rate that is
supported by the G90 display driver and restart the computer.

Known Problems
==============

The Intergraph P9000 display driver has not been completely tested.

SELECTING WRONG MONITOR TYPE CAUSES DISPLAY TO NOT SYNC CORRECTLY

Diamond Viper P9000 display adapter cannot query the monitor ID through
the monitor cable. The solution since Ver. 04.00.00.03 is to clearly
label the supported monitor types, multi-sync and InterVue 20 inch,
in the "Monitor Type" tab. THE USER MUST KNOW AND CHOOSE THE PROPER
MONITOR TYPE. (See the Trouble Shooting section below).

Resolutions
===========

At installation time, the user selects the Monitor Type tab and
chooses a monitor (either Multi-Sync Monitor or InterVue 20 inch
Monitor).

The Multi-Sync Monitor selection is for standard multisync monitors,
however some multi-sync monitors may not sync at the higher refresh
rates at higher resolutions (eg. 72 Hz instead of 60 Hz in most cases).
In other words, lower performance monitors will require the slower
60 Hz vertical refresh in most cases. The recommended procedure is
to test new resolution settings before selecting "Apply" or "OK" in
the Settings display properties page.

The InterVue 20 inch selection supports InterVue 20 inch Monitor only.
This multiple-sync monitor is designed to support refresh rates higher
than standard multisync monitors.

The following resolutions are available on the InterVue
20 inch Monitor for the standard 2 Meg video frame buffer
configuration:

     Resolution Pixel Frequency
                          Depth(s) (Hz)
----------------------------------------------
      640x480 8/16/32 153

      800x600 8/16 126

     1024x768 8/16 99

     1280x960 8 80

    1280x1024 8 76

The Intergraph P9000 display driver supports the following
resolutions for multi-sync monitors, including the Intergraph
TX-D2151W and TX-D1751W multi-sync monitors:

     Resolution Pixel Frequency
                          Depth(s) (Hz)
----------------------------------------------

      640x480 8/16/32 73

      800x600 8/16/32 60
      800x600 8/16/32 73

     1024x768 8/16 60
     1024x768 8/16 70

     1280x960 8 60
     1280x960 8 75

    1280x1024 8 60
    1280x1024 8 72

    1600x1200 8 60
    1600x1200 8 65

Trouble Shooting
================

1) IF YOU BOOT NT AND THE SCREEN DOES NOT SYNCRONIZE PROPERLY,
   DO THE FOLLOWING:

Reboot the system to NT, but hit the space bar immediately when
prompted. Select "Use Last Known Good" in the Configuration
Recovery Menu. This approach assumes the last configuration
   was a valid configuration, however.

If the "Last Known Good" method does not apply to your case, select
the VGA option from the system boot menu. Selecting this option
will boot NT with the VGA driver instead of the P9000 display driver.

If you have just installed the P9000 display driver, you may need
to select the monitor type for your monitor.

   1) Open the "Display Properties" applet.
   2) Select the "Monitor Type" tab.
   3) Select the monitor type that best denotes the current monitor.
   4) Select "OK" and restart your system.

If the appropriate monitor type has been selected and the monitor
failes to sync, there may be a corrupted display driver file or
registry entry. In this case, boot under VGA and re-install the
   display driver.

   If all else fails:

Reboot the system to DOS and remove the file P90INGR.SYS in
directory \WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. Reboot the system again to NT.
Since the Intergraph P9000 driver has been removed, NT will use
the Microsoft standard VGA driver. A proper resolution can then
be selected through NT Setup, which will re-install the P9000
   driver.

If your system does not have DOS (NT only), and your installation
of NT uses the standard DOS file system (FATFS), you may boot
from floppy then remove this file from the system drive. If your
NT system was built on OS/2, or if your NT resides on HPFS, you
may boot from an OS/2 system recovery (boot) floppy and remove
the file. If you have an NTFS-formatted system disk, you will
need to reload the NT Operating System (you should choose to not
reformat your system disk during reinstallation, in order to
   preserve your software and data).

2) After attempting to install the Intergraph P9000 display
driver, once the system has been rebooted, if a message box
titled "New Hardware Found" appears stating:

   a) "Intergraph P9000"
   b) "Select which driver you want to install for your new
       hardware:"
     1) "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer"
     2) "Do not install a driver (Windows NT will not prompt
        you again)"
     3) "Select from a list of alternate drivers"

Do the following: Select "Do not install a driver" and "OK."
Reboot the system and re-install the Intergraph P9000 display
  driver.

3) If a message box appears stating:
"The drivers were not successfully installed. You may not
have the required privileges to install a new driver." ,
   do the following:
   a) Select "OK."
   b) Shut down and restart the system
   c) Re-install the driver
