Preparing a PS/2 Reference Diskette
==================================
If you have an older PS/2 system, prepare a backup copy of your PS/2 system
Reference Diskette before you install the SoundPiper card. Then copy the
file @5130.ADF from this diskette to the backup copy Reference Diskette.
You'll need this backup diskette to configure your system after you've
installed the SoundPiper card.
Installing the SoundPiper
=========================
1. If you have been using your system, turn your computer off.
2. Remove the computer's cover.
3. Select the expansion slot where you will install the SoundPiper.
4. Remove the blank expansion slot cover from the computer back panel
at the position where you will install the SoundPiper.
5. Insert the SoundPiper card into the selected system expansion slot.
6. Connect the internal CD-ROM audio cable if appropriate.
7. Replace the cover on the system unit.
8. Connect the appropriate interface cables between the SoundPiper
connectors and your sound output (speakers) or input (microphone) devices.
9. Turn the computer on. If you have an older PS/2 system, use the backup
copy of your Reference Diskette you prepared earlier for startup. Run
the automatic configuration option in the 'Set Configuration' program.
If you have a newer system, the program, supplied on your hard disk,
will start automatically. The SoundPiper hardware installation is complete.

DOS Utilities Installation and Instructions
===========================================
This diskette contains a number of useful DOS utilities. Since these
programs are not required for the normal operation of your system, they
are NOT installed automatically. To install the DOS utilities you desire
to use, simply copy them from this diskette to an appropriate directory
on your hard disk.
The first utility, SPCONFIG.EXE is useful for determining the configuration
of you SoundPiper card. If you have technical question and are calling
technical support at Piper Research, please have this utility available.
The second utility, SPVOL.EXE is a DOS based Mixer/Volume control utility.
Use it to adjust the output levels of the sound. At the DOS prompt, typing
SPVOL will give you the current settings. Typing SPVOL /? at the DOS prompt
will give you instructions on how to run the program.
The third utility, SPTEST.EXE is a DOS based test program useful in problem
determination. This program, through various outputs to the speakers,
tests sections of the SoundPiper for proper operation.
The fourth utility, CHECKENV.EXE is used to make certain DOS games
such as Mad Dog Mcree run better. Run CHECKENV befor running the game.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
