INSTALLING CMD USB HOST FILTER DRIVER FOR OSR2 AND MEMPHIS

Section A: Unzip the filter driver

1. Makes a directory called FILTER in c: root directory and copy 
filter.zip file to it.

2. Unzip filter.zip file into filter directory.  If a user uses dos 
version of the pkunzip, includes the switch "-d" to create all
sub-directories.  It will create these two directories:OSR2 and Memphis,
and put the device drivers in the proper location.
i.e.) pkunzip filter.zip -d

3. Goto to [Section B] for OSR2 or goto [Section C] for Memphis.


[Section B(OSR2)]
System should have USBsupplement installed prior to load filter 
driver.

1. Go to Device Manager (Click on Start-settings-Control Panel-System 
icon-Device Manager).

2. Double Click on Universal Serial Bus Host section and highlight 
on "Standard Open Host Controller," select property, click on driver 
tab.

3. Click on Update driver and follow "Update Device Driver" wizard. 
Make sure to click on "other location" option and type 
c:\filter\OSR2 when it searches for updated driver. If it searches 
67xftr97.sys file in OSR2 CD then type c:\filter\OSR2 where 
67xftr97.sys is located at.  If it searches for "Openhci.sys" file 
then type "c:\windows\system" in location. 

4.  Check USB Host string in Device Manager.  If it shows as "CMD 
USB 670 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller" then it loaded the
filter driver properly.

[Section C: Memphis(Windows 98)]

1. Go to Device Manager (Click on Start-settings-Control Panel-System
icon-Device Manager).

2.  Go to Device Manager, highlight on the "Rev 04 CMD USB controller
is not supported by Microsoft" line, select property, and click on the
driver tab.

3. Click on the Update driver and follow "Update Device Driver" wizard. 
Make sure to click on "specify a location" option and type 
c:\filter\memphis when it searches for updated driver. If it searches 
67xftr98.sys file in Windows 98 CD then type c:\filter\memphis where 
67xftr98.sys is located.

4.  Check whether filter driver 67xftr98.sys is installed properly
in Device Manager-CMD USB0670 PCI to USB Open Host Controller-property
-driver-Driver files detail.  If there is 67xftr98.sys, then it is loaded
properly.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
