UP-D8800 Windows95 Printer Driver  Ver2.01

This file contains important last-minute information.
Please refer to this Readme in advance. 

        
1.Please update your printer's ROM (Version 1.20 or newer) for Windows95.
   If the following error message(or similler message) appears when 
   you start Windows95 connected to UP-D8800 with SCSI interface, 
   please set as follows.

      <Error message>
         " A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0020:C0269AEE in VXD 
          IOS(04)+000021B6.  The current application will be terminated."  


      <Setting>
        1) Turn on the power while pushing [MENU] key. 
        2) You will see the following message on the printer LCD. 
           " SCSI Device Type "
           "    <2>    3      " 
        3) Please choose "3" by using -> key. 
           " SCSI Device Type " 
           "     2    <3>     " 
        4) Turn off the power and on again.
    *Please change ROM to the new one for Windoes95 if the above 
     mentioned message for the setting is not displayed on the 
     printer LCD.


2.The instruction manual is under Doc folder.
  Please copy it to hard disk and double click.

3.If you print a color image from LotusFreelance96 to UP-D8800, 
  it will be printed in B/W.  

4.You can not use Current Status button and Color Adjust with Centronics interface.

5.To cancel printing, use Spooler's "Document Cancel Printing".  
  Don't use the STOP key on the printer front panel.

6.Please restart your computer after installing a upgraded driver
   software.

7.If an error writing to SCSIX: occures using multiple printers, please 
  reprint later.

8. When you are using Centronics interface with EMF spool setting, sometimes the memory error 
   occurs or printouts become wrong. If these happen, please choose RAW of
   "Spool data format".
   (You can set "Spool data format" from the "Spool settings" of 
   "Details" property.)

9.You can use Lamination media.(Printer needs Version 1.20 or newer ROM.)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
