Past versions of Delta Tau's Pcomm32 stripped out space characters before command lines were sent to PMAC. This practice could turn certain legal command groupings into illegal commands, when PMAC needed the space character to delimit separated commands or values. This caused particular problems in getting a robust backup, verify, and restore of the full PMAC configuration. This new version of Delta Tau's PCommServer Pro2 Library no longer strips out space characters from command lines. This eliminates the problems that were caused by the old version. However, the practice of stripping out spaces permitted a few illegal syntax forms to be corrected automatically. This new version will no longer correct these illegal syntax forms, and users with these illegal forms may find that commands that formerly could be downloaded now are rejected by PMAC with an error. PMAC cannot accept spaces at certain places in the following types of command lines (shown by examples): Legal Illegal #1-> #1 -> #1->1000X #1 ->1000 X M100-> M100 -> M100->D:$0088 M100 ->D:$0088 ABS(X,Y,Z) ABS (X, Y, Z) FRAX(X,Y,Z) FRAX (X, Y, Z) INC(X,Y,Z) INC (X, Y, Z) LEARN(X,Y,Z) LEARN (X, Y, Z) Users who have files containing these commands with illegal spaces should strip out these spaces. Those who do not wish to do this should continue to use older versions of PCOMM32.
