INTRODUCTION
This driver supports all Digi adapters listed below. These adapters
provide connectivity in a Windows NT 4.0 environment and support a
broad range of WAN connections, including serial, V.90 modems,
ISDN (BRI and PRI), Frame Relay, SNA (SDLC, X.25/QLLC), PPP
and X.25 protocols.
Digi International announced the discontinuation of the DataFire RAS
product line in September 2001.
In our continued effort to support DataFire RAS customers, we entered
into a definitive agreement to sell the DataFire RAS product line to
Patton Electronics Company in November 2001. All business areas related
to the DataFire RAS product line are now handled by Patton Electronics.
If you have any technical questions with respect to the DataFire RAS
product line, please contact Patton Electronics via e-mail at
support@patton.com, or call 1-301-975-1000 and ask for the technical
support team.
Additional information is also available on the Patton Electronics
website at <http://datafire.patton.com>, including driver updates and
future releases.
Please note that the AccelePort RAS product line is NOT part of the
DataFire RAS product line acquisition by Patton Electronics.
Digi International will continue to sell and fully support all
AccelePort RAS products without restrictions.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Installation/User Interface:
Within the wizard mode, if invalid input has been entered and
back button is pressed, an error message might appear indicating
that the input is invalid. Valid input needs to be entered
to be able to go back.
PortAssist Viewer:
The PortAssist Viewer shows a Line Speed and Configured Baud
Rate of zero for the SYNC/570 if the link is externally clocked.
If the link is internally clocked both values show the
Configured Baud Rate. The SYNC/570 does not calculate the Line
Speed.
PortAssist Viewer shows a protocol of SDLC for QLLC SNA links.
Use the raw data for problem diagnosis.
RAS Adapters:
On Channelized T1 Wink Start Trunks without dial tone super-
vision, modems must be initialized with ATX3 for dial out.
When configuring dial-up modem service for a line, all modems on
the line should be configured since incoming calls may be
assigned to any channel.
On ISDN Trunks, the following rules are applied to modem dial strings:
1. A comma (delay) in the first or second position is allowed.
2. Then the first non-numeric character terminates the dial string
(e.g. 9,12345678 is a valid dial string and 9,1,234-5678 is not).
SYNC Adapters:
For PPP links, both sides of a connection must disconnect before
they can be reconnected.
When using the SDLC interface, the maximum BTU (Basic
Transmission Unit) is limited to 521 bytes. This is a known
limitation of the IBM SDLC link service provided in SNA Server.
See the Microsoft SNA article, "Maximum BTU Limit for Dumb
SDLC Interface" for more information.
