ENHANCEMENTS
DigiView trace feature now decodes several more ISDN Information Elements:
Maintenance/Service Messages, Call identity, Restart indicator, Display text,
Change status.
BUG FIXES
This release includes all bug fixes from any previous version of driver
software release for the supported adapters.
DigiView trace feature sometimes identified ISDN SETUP packets as UI
frames on Basic Rate ISDN (BRI) lines.
A problem was fixed where service messages brought
down the PRI line on some National ISDN switches.
Problems relating to the failure to establish ISDN
modem connections were fixed.
A problem where B channels were not being hung up
correctly was fixed.
A problem was fixed where no B channel status
information was being reported for higher numbered B
channels.
A problem was fixed for the DataFire RAS 48 adapter
where status information on line 1 was being
misinterpreted as status information for line 2.
Finally there was a bug that was fixed that might
have potentially caused problems with adapters that
have interrupts activated. No such problems have been
reported to date.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Operating System Support:
This release no longer supports Windows NT 3.XX.
Installation/User Interface:
Within the wizard mode, if invalid input has been entered and back
button is pressed, an error message may appear indicating that
the input is invalid. A valid input needs to be entered to be able
to go back.
PortAssist Viewer:
The PortAssist Viewer shows a Line Speed and Configured Baud Rate of
zero for the SYNC/570 if the link is externally clocked. If the
link is internally clocked both values show the Configured Baud Rate.
The SYNC/570 does not calculate the Line Speed.
PortAssist Viewer will show a protocol of SDLC for QLLC SNA links.
Use the raw data for problem diagnosis.
RAS Adapters:
On Channelized T1 Wink Start Trunks without dial tone supervision,
modems must be initialized with ATX3 for dial out.
When configuring dial up modem service for a line, all modems on the
line should be configured since incoming calls may be assigned to any
channel.
On ISDN Trunks, the following rules are applied to modem dial strings:
a) A comma (delay) in the first or second position is allowed.
b) then the first non-numeric character terminates the dial
string (e.g. 9,12345678 is a valid dial string and
9,1,234-5678 is not).
UPGRADING
If you have a previous version of the driver installed for any supported
adapters, an "update" is required to install this new driver.
1. Select the Network Control Panel Applet.
2. Select the Adapter tab.
3. Select one of the supported installed adapters. Note: updating any
supported adapter automatically updates all installed adapters.
4. Click the Update button.
