Information required to complete installation:

You will need to have the following information from your ISDN
Provider or Telecom for each ISDN BRI line you order. It's
important to note that this information may be different for each
line--even the switch type(s) may vary between lines and/or
	locations!

     - Switch type (AT&T 5E, NI-1, etc.) and/or D-Channel Protocol (1TR6,
	EDSS-1, etc.).

       	In North America:

Make sure your provider gives you explicit information regarding
National ISDN-1. It's not uncommon for the provider to identify
the switch type according to manufacturer and model number
(Northern TeleCom DMS-100), but neglect to mention that National
ISDN-1 software is running on the switch.

        - If it's a Northern TeleCom switch, your provider should verify
          that EKTS is disabled (=No).

        - If it's a National ISDN-1 switch, your provider should verify
that EKTS is set to Basic or None.

     - Number of Logical Terminals (typically 1 or 2).

     - Multipoint or Point-to-Point service; multiple Logical Terminal
and SPIDs per BRI line usually indicates Multipoint service.

     - The "DN" Directory (phone) Number assigned to each Logical
       	Terminal.

     - The SPID assigned to each Logical Terminal.

Information required from provider to make a call:

     - The protocol subscribed to on each B Channel (B1 and B2).
This will be Circuit Switched Data (CSD) and/or Circuit
Switched Voice (CSV) on either or both channels.

In Europe:

Make sure your provider gives you explicit information which
D-Channel protocol is being used for your Service. Most commonly,
the so called "Euro-ISDN" standard will get used, also referred to
	as EDSS-1, ISDN-2, VN5 or more generic NET 3.

If your connection is not direct to the public ISDN Network but
through a PBX system (Switchboard), please make sure your PBX is
able to provide a full ISDN BRI emulation according to the
protocol standard and is programmed to allow unlimited access to
the ISDN line in Data mode.

      - The telephone number(s) of your ISDN BRI
If you want to address different ISDN devices on the same ISDN
Bus, you will need to have a subaddressing scheme. For example,
you can address multiple devices under the Euro-ISDN protocol by
using the so called MSN's (Multiple Subscriber Numbers). Make
sure you get an adequate amount of MSN's and their numbers from
your ISDN Provider. Under the 1TR6 protocol, you can assign the
EAZ (Endgeraete Ausscheide Ziffer) yourself by adding one extra
digit to your telephone number (Attention: EAZ may not be "0" or
	"9").

      - Point-to-Multipoint or Point-to-Point service; Normally , our
	products require the Multipoint service.

GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - Please note the following two points
before proceeding
==========================================================================

1. If during the installation of the Digi ISDN adapter drivers you are
prompted for the location of any of the Windows 95 system files, enter
D:\WIN95 as the source location, where D: is the drive letter for your
CD-ROM or floppy drive.

2. During the copy operation, Windows 95 over-writes some of its own
system files. If a dialog box appears, reporting that a file on your
system has a later date than the one being copied, keep the more recent
file. That is, answer "Yes" meaning you will keep the one
on your system and skip the copy operation for that file.

Installation Instructions for Dial-Up Networking
------------------------------------------------

Before you start, verify that Dial-Up Networking is installed in your
system (Start->Programs->Accessories menu to verify). If it is not part of
the menu system, you could add this software element using "Add/remove
Programs" in Control panel.

   * Double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in Control Panel.

   * Click on "Windows Setup" Tab.

   * Select the "Communications" row and then click on Details button.

   * Make sure that Dial-Up Networking is "checked".

   * Click OK.

   * Windows will copy files to the system and will prompt you
     accordingly.

Installation Instructions for ISDN Accelerator Pack 1.1
-------------------------------------------------------

Having downloaded (or otherwise obtained) the ISDN Accelerator Pack 1.1:

   * Assuming the downloaded file is in a diskette in drive a:, go to
	start menu and select "Run".

   * Type a:\msisdn11.exe and click OK. This will install the ISDN
	Accelerator Pack.

   * 	Restart your system.

Installation Instructions for Dial-Up Adapter (Microsoft's logical adapter)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having Double-clicked the Network icon in Control Panel:
If the Dial-Up adapter is not already present.

   * Click Add, click Adapter in the list, then click Add.

   * You are prompted with "Select Network adapters" dialog box.

   * Under Manufacturers select "Microsoft" and under Network Adapters
	select "Dial-Up Adapter".

   * 	Press OK.

Installation Instructions for Digi Adapters
-------------------------------------------

Note: Dial-Up Networking, ISDN Accelerator Pack and Dial-Up Adapter should
be installed prior to installation of the Digi Adapters. Verify the
previous three installation procedures.

1. Having Double-clicked the Network icon in Control Panel.

   * Click Add, click Adapter in the list, then click Add.

   * When prompted, click Have Disk.

   * Enter the location of the Digi driver files, then Click OK.
This will either be the directory to which the driver was downloaded,
or the diskette you received from Digi.

   * In the list, select Digi International as your Manufacturer,
select the type of Digi Network Adapter you wish to install, then
     click OK.

Note: You may not be prompted for a Manufacturer. In this case,
simply select the Digi Network Adapter you wish to install.

   * Click OK.

2. You will be asked to enter your I/O address range. Make sure
that the I/0 address selected matches the jumper settings on
your board. For the PCIMAC family of adapters, you will also
be asked to enter your memory address. Select an available
memory address based on what is available for your machine.
You can view used memory by double-clicking on the System icon
in the Control Panel, clicking on the Device Manager tab,
double-clicking on Computer, and then clicking Memory.

3. Click OK.

4. The configuration wizard will now start. After reading the first
   screen, Click Next.

5. Enter your switch protocol. For most US installations, this
will be NI-1. In Europe, this will be typically EDSS.
If you are not sure which switch type to use, contact your telephone
   company. Click Next.

6. Enter your SPIDs (US only) and phone numbers.

7. Click Next to continue, and then Finish.

NOTE: During the copy operation, Windows 95 over-writes some of
its own system files. If a dialog box appears reporting that a
file on your system (eg: NDIS.VXD) has a later date than the one
being copied, keepthe more recent file. That is, answer "Yes"
meaning you will keep the one on your system and skip the copy
   operation for that file.

8. Restart your computer.

Note: To reconfigure your card (SPIDs and, or Phone Numbers), use the
      start menu button:
      Choose: Programs->Accessories->ISDN tools->ISDN Configuration Wizard.
