 Installing the AMB8100 NDIS2 Driver
 -----------------------------------
 The following network operating systems use the NDIS 2.01 driver:
   . Windows For Workgroups
   . Banyan VINES
   . IBM LAN Server
   . Artisoft LANtastic

 I. Windows for Workgroups (WFW)
 -------------------------------
  1. Start Windows for Workgroups
  2. Select Network
  3. Select Network Setup
  4. Click Networks
  5. Select Install Microsoft Windows Network and click OK
  6. Select Drivers
  7. From the Network Drivers window, select Add Adapter
  8. Select Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter
  9. With the AMB8100 User Installation/Diagnostics diskette in
     drive A, enter the following path: A:\WFW311. Clock OK to
     proceed.
  8. "AmbiCom 10/100 Ethernet CardBus PC Card" is shown in the table.
     Select it and click Close.

 II. Banyan VINES
 ----------------
  1. Use the DOS MD command to create a subdirectory called \VINES.
  2. Copy the contents of the VINES LAN S/W (DOS) Install diskette
     into the \VINE subdirectory.
  3. Copy the contents of the NDIS subdirectory on the VINES LAN S/W
     (DOS) 2 of 2 diskette into the \VINES subdirectory.
  4. Copy AMBCBL.DOS from \NDIS2 on the AMB8100 User Installation/
     Diagnostics diskette, to the C:\VINES subdirectory.
  5. Copy the PROTOCOL.INI from the \MSLANMAN.DOS\DIRVERS\
     ETHERNET\AMB8100 subdirectory on the AMB8100 User Installation/
     Diagnostics diskette to the \VINES subdirectory.
  6. Edit the PROTOCOL.INI file to read as follows:
     [PROTOCOL MANAGER]
        DRIVERNAME=NDISMAN$
     [VINES_XIF]
        DRIVERNAME=NDISBAN$
        BINDINGS=AMBCBL
     [AMBCBL]
        DRIVERNAME=AMBCBL$
  7. Run the PCCONFIG.EXE program located in the \VINES subdirectory.
  8. Select option 1, Network Card Settings.
  9. Select the NDIS Ethernet option.
     The NDIS Workstation screen appears.
 10. Enter the IRQ that you selected for the AMB8100 PC Card.
 11. Press [F10] twice to return to the first menu.
 12. Select option 2, Login Environment Settings.
 13. In the next screen, select option 1, Default Communications
     Driver.
 14. In the next screen scroll down to NDIS Ethernet and press
     [Enter].
 15. Exit PCCONFIG by pressing [F10] to save the new configuration.
 16. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file to add the following lines, substituting
     A: for C: for a floppy disk installation.
     DEVICE=C:\VINES\PROTMAN.DOS  /I:C:\VINES
     DEVICE=C:\VINES\AMBCBL.DOS
     LASTDRIVE=M
 17. Edit the AUTOEXE.BAT file to add the following lines:
     CD\VINES
     BAN
     CD
    
     BAN loads the NDISBAN drivers and reads the PCCONFIG.DB file to
     invoke changes make during the PCCONFIG stage.

     The driver installation is complete.

 III. IBM LAN Server 4.0 for DOS
 -------------------------------
  1. Insert the DOS LAN Services Disk 1 diskette into your floppy
     disk drive.
  2. Switch to that drive and type: INSTALL [Enter]
  3. Choose the directory where you want the software installed.
  4. Choose Network card not shown in the list below...
  5. Remove the DOS LAN Services Disk 1 diskette and insert the
     AMB8100 User Installation/Diagnostics diskette.
  6. Type: A:\NDIS2 [Enter]
       The next menu displays the AmbiCom 10/100 Ethernet CardBus
       PC Card.  Additional menus will appear.
  7. Choose the appropriate options for your network environment and
     complete the installation.
  8. Refer to the IBM documentation if you have questions about
     these menus.
  9. Copy AMBCBL.DOS from the AMB8100 User Installation/Diagnostics
     diskette to C:\NET.
 10. Reboot the PC.

     The driver installation is complete.

 IV. Artisoft LANtastic 6.0
 --------------------------
 To install the AMB8100 NDIS driver for Artisoft LANtastic 6.0 follow
 these steps. You can install the driver from either the DOS prompt or
 Windows.

 DOS Prompt
 ----------
  1. Insert Artisoft's LANtastic Disk 1 in the floppy disk drive.
  2. Type: A:INSTALL [Enter]
     Windows launches and starts the installation of LANtastic.
  3. Go to Step 5 under the following "Windows" procedure and continue
     with the remaining steps.

 Windows
 -------
  1. Launch Windows, if it is not already opened.
  2. Select Run from the File menu.
  3. Type: A:INSTALL [Enter]
     If you are using a different drive, use the letter for that
     drive.
  4. Following the instructions and enter the required information.
  5. Select NDIS Support for Network Adapters in the Select Network
     Adapter window.
  6. When prompted, remove the LANtastic diskette, insert the AMB8100
     User Installation/Diagnostics diskette, type A:\NDIS2, and press
     [Enter].
     The NDIS driver is copied to your hard drive from the AMB8100
     User Installation/Diagnostics diskette.
  7. When prompted, remove the LANtastic diskette, insert the
     LANtastic Disk 1 in floppy disk drive.
  8. Follow the instructions and enter the required information about
     your PC name and configuration.

     The driver installation is complete.
