This driver supports multi-frequency video monitors, including DDC capable Monitors. This driver supports the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese. If the currently installed Windows NT language is not one of the above choices, the installation will default to English. This release of the Wildcat Pro Display Driver will only install and run on systems running Windows 2000. Heidi(r) and 3D Studio Max(r) driver packages are included with this release on separate disks. For information on installing the Heidi(r) and 3D Studio Max(r) drivers, see the readme.txt files included on those disks. -------------------------- End of Version Information -------------------------- Installation Help ================= This driver will not run on any machine that does not have PCI backplane hardware. The Wildcat Pro Display driver will work with both AGP and AGP Pro versions of the Wildcat Display adapter. See MANIFEST.TXT for a list of delivered files. Please refer to the installation documentation provided with the media supplied with your system. If you are installing an updated driver from the 3Dlabs web site, please do the following: 1. Save the self-extracting .zip file to a temporary directory on the system hard drive. 2. Double-click the self-extracting zip file to unzip the driver files. These driver files are compressed and will be expanded during the installation process. NOTE: When re-installing Windows 2000 with a Wildcat Pro card installed in the system, the "Found New Hardware" dialog/wizard will not come up after the final boot into Windows 2000. You must install the driver. Simply run the setup.exe program located with the Wildcat driver software, then reboot the system. The setup.exe program will install the driver for you. WINDOWS 2000 PLUG AND PLAY -------------------------- For driver installation and removal, refer to the Hardware section of the Windows 2000 online help. This Help is generally available by clicking on "Start" at the bottom left of the screen, and selecting the Help entry from the menu. NOTE: During the installation, a dialog box will appear indicating that another disk is needed. This will correspond to the installation disks. Verify that the path in the entry line at the bottom of the dialog box points to the location for the next disk and select the option that will allow you to continue installation. If you have downloaded an updated driver from the 3Dlabs web site, enter the path corresponding to the Disk1, Disk2,... folders created by the self-extracting zip file. Automated Installation Help =========================== NOTES: Make sure you have Windows NT Administrator privileges and write permission on the target machine, as the automated installation will create temporary directories on its hard drive. 1. Create an installation directory on your hard drive and then copy all installation files into that directory. You may either create a directory structure having a disk1, disk2 format, or copy all files from disk1 and disk2 into the same directory. (NOTE: Do not copy files from disk3 or disk4 into the directory. Disk3 and disk4 contain the Heidi(r) and 3D Studio Max(r) driver installations, respectively.) 2. Modify the setup.ini file to meet your specifications. 3. Run setup.exe. 4. Reboot the system. Unattended Installation Help ============================ To install the Wildcat Display driver as part of an unattended installation of Windows 2000, execute the following steps. 1. Copy all driver files to a single directory in the $OEM$\$1\ path of the distribution directory (ex. d:\win2kdst\$oem$\$1\wcgpro). 2. Add the following sections to the unattend.txt file: [Unattended] OemPreinstall = yes OemPnPDriversPath = "\wcgpro" [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 XResolution = 1024 YResolution = 768 VRefresh = 75 3. Execute the unattended installation. NOTE: To bypass the digital signing check for a non-WHQL version of the driver, add the following entries to the unattend.txt file: [SetupParams] DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore New Features ============ 05.03.00.14 - Improved ProE shaded performance. 05.03.00.10 - Improved Catia, Maya, and ProE performance. 05.03.00.07 - Improved 3DSMax performance. 05.03.00.06 - Improved display list execute performance. - Improved 3DSMax performance. 05.03.00.05 - Further improved SDRC and ProE performance. 05.03.00.01 - Added access to glTexSubImage3DEXT and glCopyTexSubImage3DEXT. - Added P4 performance enhancements Fixes ===== 05.03.00.15 - Fixed blue screen in surface.exe 05.03.00.14 - Fixed a missing step in color index lighting.
