README.TXT for the installation and uninstall for modem part number 6000758. If you have had a modem previously installed please follow the uninstall steps below before installing the new modem. If this is a first time installation or if you are installing after formatting and reloading, skip to the modem install for the correct operating system. Windows 95/98 Uninstall 1. Go to Device Manager. Highlight U.S. Robotics 56K Voice Win and click Properties. 2. Go to Port Settings tab and click on the Uninstall button. 3. The wizard warns that the device is about to be removed. Click OK to continue. 4. For the uninstall to complete properly, click OK to finish and close the Device Manager. Windows 95 Installation 1. When the system is started, the modem is detected. The wizard will search out drivers to load. Click Next to continue. 2. The wizard has found the correct driver. Click Next to continue with the installation. 3. A window displays asking for the diskette. Make sure that the correct path to where the driver was downloaded to is listed and click OK. 4. Another window may display saying it cannot find a file needed to load the drivers for the modem. Make sure the path is correct and then click OK. 5. The files are copied to the hard drive. The next part of the installation is to install the wave device drivers for the modem. Click Next to continue with the installation. 6. The appropriate drivers have been found. Click Finish to copy the files and to finish the installation of the modem. Windows 98 installation 1. When the system starts, the modem is detected. The wizard will search out drivers to load. Click Next to continue. 2. The wizard will automatically search the hard drive for the drivers but will give you the option to choose what other devices to check. Choose browse and go to the directory in which the driver was downloaded to. Click Next to continue. 3. The wizard searches for the driver. 4. The wizard has located the device driver. Click Next to continue with the installation. 5. The files are copied. 6. Windows has finished installing the software for the modem. Click Finish to continue. 7. The wizard goes back out and searches for the wave device drivers. Click Next to continue. 8. The wizard prompts you for what to do. Make sure to select Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended) and click Next. 9. The wizard will automatically search the hard drive for the drivers but gives you the option to choose what other devices to check. Choose browse and go to the directory in which the driver was downloaded to. Click Next to continue. 10. The wizard locates the appropriate driver. Click Next to continue. 11. The wave driver installation has completed. Click Finish to continue.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
