1.0 Install the Windows 95 with WinFast 3D L2200/L2230 board in the PC Install Windows 95 in the usual way. When installation has completed, Windows 95 should be booted on the VGA. Follow the section 1.1 "Fitting WinFast 3D L2200/L2230 board with Windows 95 already installed" to install the drivers of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. 1.1 Fitting WinFast 3D L2200/L2230 board with Windows 95 already installed During the booting of Windows 95, a message "New hardware Found PCI XGA Compatible Adapter" of "New hardware Found PCI VGA Compatible Adapter" must be shown on the screen. This represents Windows 95 can not locate the device driver(s) of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. Follow the procedure below: Step 1 Insert the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 1" diskette into floppy drive A. Step 2 Select the "Driver from Disk Provided by Hardware Manufacturer" and then select the "OK" button. A window titled "Install From Disk" will appear. Step 3 Specify the path A:\ and select the "OK" button in the "Install from Disk" window. Step 4 A windows will appear to ask for the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 2" diskette, Remove the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 1" diskette and insert "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 2" diskette into floppy drive A. And then specify the path A:\ and select the "OK" button. Step 5 After all new drivers are installed, a windows will appear to ask you to restart Windows 95 now. Step 6 Press the "No" button Step 7 A message "New Hardware Found PCI card" must be shown on the screen. Step 8 Select the "Driver from Disk Provided by Hardware Manufacturer" and then select the "OK" button. A window titled "Install From Disk" will appear. Step 9 Specify the path A:\ and select the "OK" button in the "Install from Disk" window. (Assume the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 2" is already in the floppy drive A.) Step 10 After this new device is configured, a windows may appear to ask you to restart Windows 95 now. Step 11 Remove the diskette from floppy drive A and then Press the "Yes" button to restart the Windows 95 now. Otherwise, use the normal procedure to restart the Windows 95 (In the "Shutdown" sub-menu of "Start" menu). 1.2 Updating existing WinFast 3D L2200/L2230 Windows 95 drivers Step 1 Insert the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 1" diskette into floppy drive A. Step 2 Press the right button of mouse in the Windows 95 wallpaper area. Step 3 Select the "Properties" item, a window titled "Display Properties" will appear. Step 4 Choose the "Settings" tab in the "Display Properties" window. Step 5 Select the "Change Display Type" button, a window titled "Change Display Type" will appear. Step 6 Select the "Change" button in the "Adapter Type" section, a window titled "Select Device" will appear. Step 7 Select the "Have Disk" button, a window titled "Install from Disk" will appear. Step 8 Specify the path A:\ and select the "OK" button in the "Install from Disk" window. Step 9 Select the "OK" button in the "Select Device" window. Step 10 A windows will appear to ask for the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 2" diskette, Remove the "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 1" diskette and insert "Windows 95 Display Driver Disk 2" diskette into floppy drive A. And then specify the path A:\ and select the "OK" button. Step 11 After all new drivers are installed, select the "Close" button in the "Change Display Type" window. Step 12 Remove the diskette from floppy drive A and then select the "Apply" or "Close" button in the "Display Properties" window Step 13 A windows will appear to ask you to restart Windows 95 now. Restart the Windows 95 now to use the new drivers. 1.3 Trouble Shooting If in case you are not able to install the WinFast 3D L2200/L2230 Windows 95 drivers. You can try the following suggested methods to override the currently used drivers. Method 1: Use another PCI slot which is unused after the Windows 95 is installed, and the Windows 95 will install the device driver(s) for it. Step 1 Power off the PC. Step 2 Remove the WinFast 3D L2200/L2230 board and plug to the another unused PCI slot. Step 3 Power on the PC. Step 4 During the booting of Windows 95, a message "New hardware Found PCI XGA Compatible Adapter" or "New hardware Found PCI VGA Compatible Adapter" must be shown on the screen. This represents Windows 95 can not locate the device driver(s) of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. Follow the section 1.1 to install the drivers of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. Method 2: Remove the registry of currently used drivers in the Windows 95 Safe Mode. (For experienced user) Step 1 Reboot the PC. Step 2 When your system is rebooted and after the appearance of the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F5 key to enter the Windows 95 Safe Mode. Step 3 Select the "Setting" item of "Start" menu. Step 4 Select the "Control Panel" item. Step 5 Double click on the "System" icon. Step 6 Choose the "Device manager" tab. Step 7 Remove all the "Display Adapter" device, "PCI XGA Compatible Adapter" and "PCI VGA Compatible Adapter". Especially the display device that you currently used. Step 8 Use the normal procedure to restart the Windows 95 (In the "Shutdown" sub-menu of "Start" menu). Step 9 During the booting of Windows 95, a message "New hardware Found PCI XGA Compatible Adapter" or "New hardware Found PCI VGA Compatible Adapter" must be shown on the screen. This represents Windows 95 can not locate the device driver(s) of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. Follow the section 1.1 to install the drivers of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. Method 3: Remove the registry and files of currently used drivers in the Windows 95 Safe Mode. (For engineer only) Step 1 Reboot the PC. Step 2 When your system is rebooted and after the appearance of the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F5 key to enter the Windows 95 Safe Mode. Step 3 Select the "Setting" item of "Start" menu. Step 4 Select the "Control Panel" item. Step 5 Double click on the "System" icon. Step 6 Choose the "Device manager" tab. Step 7 Remove all the "Display Adapter" device, "PCI XGA Compatible Adapter" and "PCI VGA Compatible Adapter". Especially the display device that you currently used. Step 8 Delete the OEM*.INF in the Windows INF directory (e.g. del C:\WIN95\INF\OEM*.INF). For the Windows 95 OSR2, you must delete the *.INF in the OTHER sub-directory of Windows INF directory (e.g. del C:\WIN95\INF\OTHER\*.INF). Step 9 Delete the *.BIN in the Windows INF directory (e.g. del C:\WIN95\INF\*.BIN). Step 10 Delete the currently used display drivers in the Windows SYSTEM directory (e.g. del C:\WIN95\SYSTEM\SUPERS3.*). (e.g. del C:\WIN95\SYSTEM\SUPERVI.*). Step 11 Use the "regedit" program to remove all the "Display Device" in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\PCI registry. Step 12 Use the normal procedure to restart the Windows 95 (In the "Shutdown" sub-menu of "Start" menu). Step 13 During the booting of Windows 95, a message "New hardware Found PCI XGA Compatible Adapter" or "New hardware Found PCI VGA Compatible Adapter" must be shown on the screen. This represents Windows 95 can not locate the device driver(s) of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230. Follow the section 1.1 to install the drivers of WinFast 3D L2200/L2230.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
