Installation:
1. Insert the installation disk into the computer

2. Plug the device into an available USB port

3. When the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' window
   appears, click 'Next'.

4. On the 'Install Hardware Device Drivers' window
       - Make sure 'Search for suitable driver...'
         is selected
       - Click 'Next'

5. Check the 'Floppy disk' or 'CD-ROM' option, depending
   on your install media, and click 'Next'.

6. On the 'Driver Files Search Results' window:
	- Make sure it says 'Windows found a driver...'
	- Click 'Next'

7. Windows will copy the necessary files.

8. On the 'Completeing the Found New Hardware Wizard' window:
	- Make sure it says 'Windows has finished installing...'
	- Click 'Finish'

9. Windows will then set up the COM port, this procedure is automatic.


Updating the driver:
1. Right click on the 'My Computer' icon.

2. Select 'Properties' on the menu that appears.

3. Click on the 'Hardware' tab.

4. Click the 'Device Manager...' button.

5. Double click on the line that says:
   'Universal Serial Bus controllers'

6. Double click on the line that says:
   'SSU-100 Single-Port USB-to-RS232 Converter'

	NOTE: DO NOT use the line in the 'Ports'
	      section that says:
              'SSU-100 Single-Port USB Serial Port'
		  to update the drivers

7. Click on the 'Driver' tab.

8. Click on the 'Update Driver...' button.

9. Follow the instructions as they appear.

Removing the Driver:
On the installation disk for Windows 2000 that came with
your product, there is a utility called Q2UNINST.EXE.

1. Place your install disk in the computer.

2. Click the 'Start' menu.

3. Select the 'Run...' option.

4. Type the following:
   x:\WIN2K\Q2UNINST.EXE
     where x is the driver letter of your installation disk
     usually this is a or d.

5. Answer the questions on the screen.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
