Before inserting your LanModem PC Card, the system's PCMCIA chipset must be enabled and functioning. The PCMCIA chipset is responsible for controlling the systems interface for PC Cards. Please consult the system's manual or manufacture for use with Windows 2000. Multifunction PC Card put a heavy demand on a system's resources. Please resolve all system conflicts, errors, and Windows 2000 issues before installing the LanModem. Please have the installation media for the Windows 2000 ready for any request for files. Getting Started ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ With the system off, remove all PC Cards Start/Boot Windows 2000 Insert the LanModem into one of the system's PCMCIA Slots A "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box should appear, see troubleshooting if the dialog box doesn't appear. Click Next icon and Windows 2000 will show "Locate Driver Files" box. Select "Floppy disk drivers" and Click Next icon and Windows 2000 will begin searching for LanModem inf files. After finding the matching inf files, Click Next icon and Windows 2000 will copy driver for LanModem. Click OK and "Files Needed" box will display. Click Browse and Locate driver in A: and Click OK. Click Finish and Windows 2000 will begin to install Lan and Modem devices. Reboot the computer. Modem Diagnostics ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Open the MY COMPUTER Run the CONTROL PANEL Run the MODEMS Select LanModem Card and Click Properties icon Click Diagnostics tab and Click Refresh icon Add LAN protocols ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Open the MY COMPUTER Run Network Connections Click Local Area Connection and Select File/Properties Troubleshooting ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ When using modem application tools, type AT command and get no respones, Select "Direct to COM2(COM3, COM4), instead of LanModem Card.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
