              Netware Driver Installation Overview
                  For Ethernet PCMCIA Adapters

This directory contains Ethernet DOS/ODI driver PCMMLID.COM that
supports NetWare 3.x and 4.0, NetWare Lite, and other ODI interface
applications.

You need the following files to install the DOS/ODI driver.
All of them are included on the Driver diskette.

1. CARDOPEN.EXE      ---- Ethnernet PCMCIA Adapter enabler
2. LSL.COM           ---- Link Support Layer, supported by Novell. 
3. PCMMLID.COM       ---- Novell DOS/ODI Driver, supported
                          by manufacturer. 
4. IPXODI.COM        ---- IPX/ODI driver, supported by Novell. 
5. NETx.COM          ---- Netware shell, supported by Novell. 
6. NET.CFG           ---- Optional configuration file

You can copy all these files to a directory, and then enter the following 
commands:

CARDOPEN        <Enter>
LSL             <Enter>
PCMMLID         <Enter>
IPXODI          <Enter>
NETx            <Enter>

You can then login to a file server.

A batch file, STARTNET.BAT, with the above commands is included
in the \NETWARE directory for your convenience.

Below is a sample NET.CFG file:

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
