3.a. Netware 3.1x and 4.1x Servers with 10BaseT
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=======-=-==-=-
In some 10BaseT environments, the server may report the following
error with IPX protocol:

      Lan driver loopback error detected
      Diver for network xxxx received its own send packet

Resolution:
An updated IPX stack needs to be obtained from Novell's WEB site.
IPXRTR.NLM needs to be loaded at the server. This will make the
server filter out its own send packets.

Netware 4.11
	At the console LOAD IPXRTR.NLM

Netware 3.1X
        The following patches need to be installed

        312PTA or later (Netware OS patch)
        LIBUPD or later ( CLIB and supporting files update)
        IPX65A (IPX update and IPXRTR.NLM)

        Apply all patches and upgrades to the server and add the
        following lines to the AUTOEXEC.NCF directly above the load
        statement for the E100B NIC.

        LOAD AFTER311
        LOAD IPXSTACK
        LOAD IPXRTR

For a detailed description of the options available when using
IPXRTR please see Novell's support page at

IPXRTR.NLM ::
...........::
...........::
The IPXRTR NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) file is the IPX protocol
stack for the NetWare operating system. IPXRTR provides NLSP routing
and full RIP/SAP functionality for network-level operations.

IPXRTR allows you to enable or disable RIP, SAP, and NLSP selectively
on network interfaces within the same server or router. For example,
you can use RIP and SAP exclusively on one interface and NLSP on
another. Additionally, an interface can use NLSP as the active routing
protocol but still accept and process RIP and SAP broadcasts from
network devices that use RIP and SAP.

IPXRTR also allows you to bind IPX to two or more network interface
boards connected to the same LAN. This enables NetWare workstations
on that LAN to use either interface when accessing the server---a
feature called load balancing or load sharing.
