Installing the new INF file, MOT1116f.inf:

1) Removing the Bitsurfr Pro From Win 95 Go to the control panel and go into Modems
   Highlight the BitSurfr PRO and click on Properties. Click on the Connection tab.
   Click on the Advanced button.
   Write down the Extra Settings string.
   Then OK all of the Properties windows for the Bitsurfr PRO.
   Then with the Bitsurfr Pro still highlighted  hit the Remove button.

2) Removing the old Driver from Win 95
   Go to the Windows Explorer and open up the Windows folder. ( Set explorer to
   "View All Files") 
   In the Windows folder open the INF folder. 
   In the INF folder look for any files named OEM0.INF or OEM1.INF etc. Double click 
   on the OEM file and a Notepad should open showing the contents of the OEM file.
   In the text of the OEM file, If the word MOTOROLA is listed for the manufacturer.
   Then Close the Notepad and delete that OEM file.  Open and view all OEM files and
   view them.  Delete only the ones that reference Motorola.

   Note: In release 2 of Win 95 there is a folder named "Other" in the INF folder. There
   are no OEM.INF files. Just open the "Other" folder and delete the MOT1116C.INF file.

3) Reinstalling the Bitsurfr Pro.
   Reboot the PC and let Win 95 detect the Bitsurfr Pro.
   Use the MOT1116F.INF file when Win 95 asks for a driver change using the Browse button.

4) Bitsurfr Pro Properties
   Go to the control panel and go into modems Highlight the BitSurfr PRO and click on
   Properties. Click on the Connection tab.
   Click on the Advanced button.
   Type in the Extra Settings string from step 1.
   Then OK all of the Properties windows for the Bitsurfr PRO. Close the Control Panel.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
