   - Fix the hang up bug for HP server system with two PCI bus.
   - Resolved GPF while running OVERFLY.EXE in 640x480x8bit 
     when switching from stretch maximum to minimum. PDR#10795.
   - Resolved noise when occluding a window on top of a running AVI file 
     in 1024x768x16bit at 70Hz and 75Hz. PDR#10797.
   - Corrected a screen corruption in Multimedia Extension 
     program when moving MXB window around. PDR#9962.

  MONISEL.DLL, MONISEL.TXT
   - Modified DDC on/off checkbox name to "Use Monitor Plug-N-Play (PnP) 
      Selection". 
   - Full localization support. Loads the message strings from MONISEL.TXT file

  - Fix 1280x1024x256 noise in Direct Draw.

  - Blocked 1024x768x16bpp, 85Hz 
  - Got rid of all 85Hz mode for the 5434 and 5434_6.
  - Added specific to get Cirrus chip ID and revision ID.

  NT 3.5 Display Driver (CL54XX35.DLL): 
  - Add Enable/Disable Feature Connector functions.

  NT 3.5 Mini port Driver (CL54XX35.SYS): 
  - Blocked 1024x768x16bpp, 85Hz for IBM.
  - Got rid of all 85Hz mode for the 5434 and 5434_6.
  - Added specific to get Cirrus chip ID and revision ID.
  - Fix NT3.51 booting issue.

  Monitor Selection Utility  (MONISEL.DLL):
  - Fix for the monitor selection utility to remove VGA drivers and other manufacturer's 
    video cards that were previously installed.  PDR#8867.


  Color Correction Utility (CLGAMMA.EXE):
   - Changed the LUT data structure format to conform with Windows spec.
   - Fix for the non standard format used for the color LUT interface 



  2.0 Installing the Device Drivers
  _________________________________

   
  1. Click Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.
  2. Start the "Display" applet program. 
  3. Select the "Settings" tab, push the "Display Type" button.
  4. Push the "Change" button in the "Display Type" Dialogue Box.
  5. Push the "Have Disk" button from the "Change Display" Dialogue box.
  6. Specify the path to the new driver and press the <ENTER> key:

          Example 1: Insert the drivers disk in the A: floppy drive,
                     and enter A:\.

          Example 2: Type in the name of the directory where you copied
                     the drivers, either on your local hard drive or
                     on a network share.

          Example 3: If you're not sure exactly where the drivers are,
                     choose the "Browse..." button are find them.

  7. The "Change Display" dialog box will appear. Choose OK.

  8. Windows NT will copy the display drivers to the proper directories
     on your system.

  9. The "Third-Party Drivers" Dialogue Box will appear. Choose Yes to 
     proceed.

  10. Continue to follow screen instructions until asked to restart your 
      machine.

  11. After the system has restarted, you can go back into the Display
      applet and select alternate screen resolutions and color depths.



  3.0 Setting the DDC default value

  1. Open the cirrus.inf file found on the disk.
  2. Go to the section called [cirrus_SoftwareDeviceSettings]
  3. Edit the last character to 1 to enable DDC. 
     Example:     HKR,, DDCControlFlag, %REG_DWORD%, 1

     Or edit the last character to 0 to disable DDC. 
     Example:     HKR,, DDCControlFlag, %REG_DWORD%, 0
 
     Warning: Changing the Cirrus.inf file may void the MS-WHQL logo.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
