Windows 95 Introduction: ------------- This document describes the procedure to install Windows 95 driver for AcerLAN ALN-101 PnP Ethernet adapter. Location of Driver: \WIN95\ALN101.SYS NDIS 3 Mini-Port DRIVER \WIN95\ALN101.DOS NDIS 2 DRIVER \WIN95\ALN101.COM ODI DRIVER Installing driver procedure on Microsoft Windows 95 : ----------------------------------------------------- Windows 95 is the operation system with PnP feature. If you set the adapter in PnP mode, Windows 95 will auto-detect your adapter configuration and set it. The user don't need to do anything for the adapter configuration. Executing Windows 95, it will auto-detect your system configuration then find the adapter hardware. 1. There will show a "New Hardware Found" dialog box and ask you to select which driver you want to install, select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer". 2. Insert the AcerLAN ALN-101 driver disk into drive A and specify the driver pathname A:\WIN95 . 3. Windows 95 will appear some messages to insert Windows 95 system disk to complete setup steps. 4. Windows 95 will finish the other installation procedure automatically, then you restart the system. If the version of your Win95 is OSR2(OEM Service Release 2),the procedure of driver's installation should be: 1. When Win95 finds the ALN-101 adapter,it will show a dialog box of "Update Device Driver Wizard".The message of "The wizard will complete the installation: NE2000 Compatible" will be shown,then select "Next". 2. There will show a message of "Windows found the following updated driver for this device: NE2000 Compatible ..." and "Location of Driver : Inf".Insert the AcerLAN ALN-101 driver disk into drive A and select "Other Locations". 3. Specify the driver pathname "A:\WIN95" in the dialog box of "Select Other Location". 4. There will show a message of "Windows found the following updated driver for this device: AcerLAN ALN-101 PnP Ethernet Adapter." and "Location of Driver : Win95" in the dialog box of "Update Device Driver Wizard".Select "Finish". 5. Windows 95 will appear a message for you to specify the path of the source drivers and insert Windows 95 system disk to complete setup steps. 6. Windows 95 will finish the other installation procedure automatically, then you restart the system. Remember to restart Windows 95 after you have installed the driver. Note: If you want the Windows 95 to detect and show the message for ALN-101 PnP Ethernet adapter card again, you can double-click Control icon, select the system icon to run, and select the Device Manager tag. Remove the 'AcerLAN ALN-101 PnP Ethernet Adapter' item in the Network Adapter tree leaf. If you set the network card in jumpless mode, you must setup your driver as following procedure by manual. 1. When log into Windows 95, click on the "Start" icon ,then move the mouse to "Settings" icon and click on the "Control Panel". 2. In the Control Panel window, click on the "Network" icon. 3. In the Network Configuration dialog box, choose the "Add.." button. "Select Network Component Type" dialog box appears, and select "Adapter" icon. 4. In the "Select Network adapters" dialog box, choose the "Have Disk" button. 5. In the "Install From Disk" dialog box, input or Browse to the path "A:\WIN95" in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:". 6. You will see "AcerLAN ALN-101 PnP Ethernet Adapter" appers in the "Models" field of "Select Network adapters", then click "OK". 7. Then, you will see "AcerLAN ALN-101 PnP Ethernet Adapter" in the Network Configuration dialog box, select it and then click on the "Properties" button. 8. In this dialog box, select "Resources ", the screen will come up with settings: IRQ and I/O address. Make sure the values that come up match the actual board settings. 9. Restarting your system you will acquire network service.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
