The steps detailed below describe the most reliable method to upgrade printer driver versions 0518 and 0723 installed on a Windows PCs when the driver has been installed locally.  This includes any installation performed using the CD Installer and any Novell printer setups.


Preparation:

The user must delete all printers on their system that use KX drivers before shutting down.

Installing Driver:

1. Restart the PC

2. Open the Printers folder by clicking Start button, selecting Settings and then clicking Printers.

3. Double click the Add Printer icon and follow the prompts to load the new driver.  Always select "Replace existing Driver" if prompted.

4. Print a test page.

Alternate Driver Installation method

If you have the Kyocera Mita Digital Library CD with the new version drivers (CD Version 6.2 or higher) simply use the included installer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
