WINDOWS SOFTWARE INSTALLATION ============================= 1) Connect Genius MouseMate to your Computer. 2) Turn on your computer, Windows NT/95/98 will start. 3) Insert the backup copy of your Genius MouseMate floppy disk to floppy drive A:(or B:). 4) Select Run under the Start button(for Windows 95/98/NT4.x) or from the Program Manager/File Manager(for Windows NT3.5x). Type A:\SETUP (or B:\SETUP) and click OK. or Find a:\setup.exe(or b:\setup.exe) in My Computer or Windows Explorers and double click. Follow the instructions on the screen. 5) Restart Windows to activate your Genius MouseMate. ====== 2. SETUP MODIFICATIONS ========================================== The Windows setup procedure makes the following files expanded from the Genius MouseMate floppy disk to the system. --- WINDOWS NT SETUP MODIFICATIONS --- Here the WINNT directory means the subdirectory of WINDOWS NT installed. 1) To the WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS subdirectory: genmmser.sys (Serial port driver) genmmps2.sys (PS2 port driver) 2) To the WINNT\SYSTEM32 subdirectory: gmcplx.dll (dll file for Genius MouseMate Control Panel) 3) To the destination directory(ie. C:\Gmouse) genmm.dll (dll file for gmouse.exe) gmouse.exe (Genius MouseMate execute file) And some other files about help and readme. 4) To the "destination directory\uninst" (ie. C:\Gmouse\uninst) uninst.exe (Genius MouseMate uninstall execute file) And some other files necessary for Genius MouseMate uninstall 5) To the "destination directory\cur" (ie. C:\Gmouse\cur) Some files about cursor . 6) If you have select 'Dos' when you install the Genius MouseMate, some files necessary for Dos driver will be copied to the "destination directory" (ie. Genius MouseMate Uninstallation =================================== The uninstall program will remove all Genius MouseMate driver files. --- Uninstall Genius MouseMate from Windows NT3.5x --- Step 1. Select Genius MouseMate group on Program Manager. Step 2. Double Click on the Uninstall Genius MouseMate item. --- Uninstall Genius MouseMate from Windows NT4.x /95/98--- Method 1: Click on the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Windows NT/95/98 Control Panel then select Uninstall Genius MouseMate and press the Remove button. Method 2: Click Start button and select Programs. Then select Genius MouseMate and double Click Uninstall Genius MouseMate . ====== 4. GENERAL NOTES ================================================ * Some applications are programmed in non-standard ways, which limits their compatibility with other software, including Genius MouseMate.To avoid headaches, some special Genius MouseMate functions have been disabled when using applications known to cause problems. * The Genius MouseMate is primarily a Windows product. It cannot provide the Pan function in DOS due to the limitations of DOS. However, if you are running DOS programs in a Windows environment you can still use many of the special features as long as your DOS sessions are windowed(i.e. not full screen). * The Button Find feature does not always work. This is due to the use of non-standard windows in some applications and is common to other implementations of this feature. ====== Hardware Installation ====== 1. Always turn off your computer before you connect or disconnect your mouse. 2. Connect Your Mouse to the serial (9-pin) port on the back of your computer. 3. Turn on your computer. ====== Installing the Genius MouseMate Software ====== For Windows 95/98/NT 1. Insert the "Genius MouseMate software" diskette into drive A or B. 2. Open the "Start" menu (Ctrl & Esc), and select "Run". 3. Type "A:\SETUP (or B:\SETUP)" in the command line box and press "Enter" to select OK. 4. When you have finished, the installation is complete and you can restart your computer. ====== Genius MouseMate Software Features ====== Button Assignments: lets you assign shortcuts to each mouse button. You can assign shortcuts to any mouse button except the primary button. You can choose the desired shortcuts from the Button Assignment drop-down lists, and click on OK. Auto-Panning: When you choose the Auto-panning button function, you can move the mouse and the document will move in the direction you move the mouse. Zoom/In(Out): When using this feature in Office 97, press the "Ctrl" key and the defined Zoom function button (the Zoom icon will appear), and you can enlarge (decrease) the window by moving the mouse forward (backward). Cursor Enhancement: this option lets you control the size, color, and pointer of the cursor. Double Click Speed: sets the speed at which the software registers a double-click. To test the speed, double-click on the Test (sun) button. When the software registers a double-click, the Test button reverses the sun impression. ====== EasyJump for Windows ====== EasyJump lets you open eight special functions quickly. Close AP Close the application you are using. Horizontal Moves the cursor to the horizontal scroll bar. Vertical Moves the cursor to the vertical scroll bar. Start Activates the Windows Start menu. Internet Access This function opens Browser to access the Internet. Help This opens the Help menu. Control Panel Opens the Genius MouseMate control panel. Auto-Panning Move the mouse, and the document will move in the direction you move the mouse.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
