1. Driver Installation process
   There are two kinds of types of Non Plug and Play and Plug and Play of our company 
   touch panel. Choose the thing that a Windows version fitted the touch panel used 
   in the way of installing the following, and install a driver.
   
 1.1 Touch panel controller connection
   Power off the PC system and connect touch panel controller interface to the
   serial port of the system and ensure power is applied to the controller
   board. Then power on the PC system.

 1.2 Non Plug and Play Touch Panel Driver installation
 
  [For Windows95]
   (1) Open "Control panel" of the system.
   (2) Double click "System" icon and open the system property page.
   (3) Click the "Device manager" tab to expand the driver tree.
   (4) Click the "Port (COM/LTP)" icon to show the ports available on the system.
   (5) Double click the COM port icon that you wish to use for the touch panel.
   (6) Disable the port driver by checking the "disable in this hardware profile" 
       check box.
   (7) Click the "OK" button and then restart the system.
   (8) Insert this Touch Panel driver disk.
   (9) Run the "setup.exe" file.
   (10) Select "1,Non Plug and Play Device".
   (11) Click "OK" button.
   (12) Select "Install Primary Panel drivers only".
   (13) Click "OK" button.
   (14) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
        Click "OK" button.
   (15) Port setting window should open. Default condition is as below.
                 COM1, I/O address = 0x3f8, IRQ = 4
       In the case that you want to use the touch panel as it is, click "OK" button.
       Or change the port setting according to the guidelines explained in section 
       1.4 or the readme file.
   (16) Restart the system.

  [For Windows98/Me]
   (1) Open "Control panel" of the system.
   (2) Double click "System" icon and open the system property page.
   (3) Click the "Device manager" tab to expand the driver tree.
   (4) Click the "Port (COM/LTP)" icon to show the ports available on the system.
   (5) Double click the COM port icon that you wish to use for the touch panel.
   (6) Disable the port driver by checking the "disable in this hardware profile"

  [For WindowsNT4.0]  
   (1) Insert this Touch Panel driver disk.
   (2) Run the "setup.exe" file.
   (3) Select "Device Driver(Recommended)".
   (4) Click "OK" button.
   (5) Select "Install Primary Panel drivers only".
   (6) Click "OK" button.
   (7) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button. 
   (8) Port setting window should open. Default condition is as below.
                 COM1, I/O address = 0x3f8, IRQ = 4
       In the case that you want to use the touch panel as it is, click "OK" button.
       Or change the port setting according to the guidelines explained in section 
       1.4 or the readme file.
   (9) Restart the system.
   
  [For Windows2000/XP]  
   (1) Insert this Touch Panel driver disk.
   (2) Run the "setup.exe" file.
   (3) Select "1,Non Plug and Play Device".
   (4) Click "OK" button.
   (5) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (6) Port setting window should open. Default condition is COM1.
       In the case that you want to use the touch panel as it is, click "OK" button.
       Or change the port setting according to the guidelines explained in section 
       1.4 or the readme file.
   (7) Restart the system.

    Attention:
    [For Windows95/98/Me/NT4.0/2000/XP]
      * When the version of Internet Explorer4.0 or more is not installed, driver 
        causes a movement defect. Please install Internet Explorer4.0 or more.
    [For Windows95/98/Me/NT4.0]
      * In the case that you need to use dual touch panels for a dual display 
        condition, Please select "Install Secondary Panel drivers only" at 
        step (14) when you install the secondary touch panel by the addition. 
      * By the used PC, when COM port is disabled . 
         The communication of the touch panel may become impossible. 
         Don't set up (1) - (7) in this case.
      * In the case that you need to use dual touch panels for a dual display 
        condition, Please select "Install Dual Panel support" at step (14) when 
        you install the secondary touch panel by the same time.
      * The Default port setting for secondary touch panel is as below.
                 COM2, I/O address = 0x2f8, IRQ = 3  
      * Device Driver(Driver to work in the kernel level) may not work by 
        an RS-232C Expansion Board to use. In this case, 
        You must install User mode Driver(Driver to work in the application level). 
        Therefore, Uninstall Device Driver.
        (The reference of "2. Driver uninstall process") 
        Next, please install User mode Driver according to the following 
        procedures. 

  [For Windows98/Me(User mode Driver)]
   (1) Insert this Touch Panel driver disk.
   (2) Run the "setup.exe" file.
   (3) Select "1,Non Plug and Play Device".
   (4) Click "OK" button.
   (5) Select "User mode Driver".
   (6) Click "OK" button.
   (7) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (8) Port setting window should open. Default condition is COM1.
       In the case that you want to use the touch panel as it is, click "OK" button.
       Or change the port setting according to the guidelines explained in section 
       1.4 or the readme file.
   (9) Restart the system.   
   
  [For WindowsNT4.0(User mode Driver)]
   (1) Insert this Touch Panel driver disk.
   (2) Run the "setup.exe" file.
   (3) Select "User mode Driver".
   (4) Click "OK" button.
   (5) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (6) Port setting window should open. Default condition is COM1.
       In the case that you want to use the touch panel as it is, click "OK" button.
       Or change the port setting according to the guidelines explained in section 
       1.4 or the readme file.
   (7) Restart the system.   

 1.3 Plug and Play Touch Panel Driver installation
 
  [For Windows95]  
   (1) When PC starts, "Unknown Device" is detected. 
   (2) Click "Next>" button.
   (3) Click "Other Location" button.
   (4) Click "Browse" button.
   (5) Specify "CD Drive\disk3".
   (6) Click "OK" button.
   (7) It is confirmed that "F&T Touch Panel Driver" was detected. And click 
       "Finish" button.
   (8) "Insert Disk" Message is indicated. And click "OK" button.
   (9) Click "Browse" button. 
   (10) Specify "CD Drive\disk3". And click "OK" button.
   (11) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
        Click "OK" button.
   (12) Restart the system.
   
  [For Windows98] 
   (1) When PC starts, "Unknown Device" is detected.
   (2) Click "Next>" button.
   (3) Select "Search for the best driver for your device.(Recommended)". 
       And Click "Next>" button.
   (4) Select "Specify a location".
   (5) Click "Browse" button.
   (6) Specify "CD Drive\disk3". And Click "Next>" button.
   (7) It is confirmed that "F&T Touch Panel Driver" was detected. 
       And Click "Next>" button.
   (8) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (9) Click "Finish" button.
   (10) Restart the system.
 
  [For WindowsMe] 
   (1) When PC starts, "Unknown Device" is detected.
   (2) Select "Specify the location of the driver(Advanced)"
   (3) Click "Next>" button.
   (4) Select "Search for the best driver for your device.(Recommended)"
   (5) Specify "CD Drive\disk3". And click "Next>" button.
   (6) It is confirmed that "F&T Touch Panel Driver" was detected. 
       And Click "Next>" button.
   (7) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (8) Click "Finish" button.
   (9) Restart the system.
   
  [For Windows2000] 
   (1) When PC starts, "New Hardware Wizard" runs automatically. 
   (2) Click "Next>" button.  
   (3) Select "Don't search I will choose  this driver to install".
   (4) Click "Have Disk..."
   (5) Click "Browse".
   (6) Specify "CD Drive\disk1".
   (7) And click "Next>" button. 
   (8) It is confirmed that "Fujitsu Takamisawa Touch Panel driver
       (Windows2000/XP)" was detected. And Click "Next>" button.
   (9) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (10) Click "Finish" button. 

  [For WindowsXP] 
   (1) When PC starts, "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" runs automatically. 
   (2) Select "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)".
       And click "Next>" button.  
   (3) Select "Don't search I will choose  this driver to install".
   (4) Click "Have Disk..."
   (5) Click "Browse".
   (6) Specify "CD Drive\disk1".
   (7) And click "Next>" button. 
   (8) It is confirmed that "Fujitsu Takamisawa Touch Panel driver(Windows2000/XP)" 
       was detected. And Click "Next>" button.
   (9) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
       Click "OK" button.
   (10) Click "Finish" button. 
   
   Attention:
   [For Windows9x/Me/NT4.0/2000/XP]
    * The meaning of the CD drive of "CD Drive\disk3" is to specify the drive name
      of the used PC. For example, specify "D:\Disk3" when a CD drive is "D".
    * The driver do not work correctly. Please install Internet Explorer4.0 or more.
   [For Windows2000/XP] 
    * You must have Administrator's authority to install this driver.
    * if "New Hardware Wizard" does not run, touch panel device was installed as 
      "Standard Serial Mouse". In the case, please install as follows.
       (1) Run the "Setup.exe" file.
       (2) Select "2,Plug and Play Device" .
       (3) Click "OK" button.
       (4) It is informed of the normality end of the installation.
           Click "OK" button.
  
 1.4 Port setting
 
 [For Windows9x/Me/NT4.0] 
   (1) Select COM to be replaced in port connection list. 
   (2) Click "Delete<=" button.
   (3) Write new port condition (COM, I/O address, IRQ) value in to edit box.
   (4) Click "=>Add" button.
 
 [For Windows2000/XP,Windows98/Me/NT4.0(User mode Driver)] 
   (1) Select COM to be replaced in port connection list. 
   (2) Click "Delete<=" button.
   (3) Select connect COM port.
   (4) Click "=>Add" button.

2. Driver uninstall process
   (1) Open "Control panel" of the system.
   (2) Double click "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
   (3) Select "Fujitsu Takamisawa Touch Panel (Serial)".
   (4) Click "Add/Remove" button.
   (5) Click "Yes" button at delete confirmation dialog box.
   (6) Driver uninstall process finishes successfully.
   (7) Restart the system.

    Attention:
      * In the case that dual touch panels are used, driver uninstalling should be
        done for the driver of the secondary panel first.
      * Select the following thing by the version of Windows in the step (3). 
          Windows9x/Me/NT4.0-Non Plug and Play-Primary 
           : "Fujitsu Takamisawa Touch Panel(Serial)"
          Windows9x/Me/NT4.0-Non Plug and Play-Secondary
           : "Fujitsu Takamisawa Secondary Touch Panel(Serial)"
          Windows9x/Me/NT4.0-Plug and Play
           : "F&T Touch Panel Driver"
          Windows2000/XP-Non Plug and Play
           : "Fujitsu Touch Panel Service (COMM)"
          Windows2000/XP-Plug and Play
           : "Fujitsu Takamisawa Touch Panel Driver (Windows2000/XP)"
          Windows98/Me/NT4.0-Non Plug and Play(User mode Driver)
           : "Fujitsu Touch Panel Service (COMM)"
     
      * When the version of Internet Explorer4.0 or more is not installed in Windows 95, 
        the driver cannot be uninstalled. Please install Internet Explorer4.0 or more.  
       
3. Method of making initial value data

 An initial value of the touch panel operation after the driver is installed is as follows. 

    [For Windows9x/Me/NT4.0] 
    * The initialization of COM of primary COM1, I/O address = 0x3f8, IRQ = 4
    * The initialization of COM of secondary COM2, I/O address = 0x2f8, IRQ = 3
    [For Windows2000/XP,Windows98/Me/NT4.0(User mode Driver)] 
    * Default COM:COM1
    [For Windows9x/Me/NT4.0/2000/XP] 
    * Data interval time:25(ms)
    * Sound Disabled
    * Operatemode:Stream mode
    * Double-clicking enabled
    * Disabled the right click simulation
    * Not display the icon in the task bar tray
    * Calibration
       Not use onboard EEPROM to store calibration results
       Accuracy required:9 point calibration
    * Not use the dual monitor

 If you want to change the initial value data of the driver,
 please make the initial value data according to the following procedures. 
 If you do not change initial value data of the driver, 
 the following procedures are unnecessary.

   (1) Install the driver. (Refer to item 1)
   (2) Open "Control panel" of the system.
   (3) Double click "Touch panel" icon.
   (4) The touch panel setting tool opens. 
   (5) Changes to setting which wants to do to an initial value.
   (6) Click "OK" button.
   (7) Click "Start" button.
   (8) Open "Run..." of the system.
   (9) It is input to the column of "Open" as "regedit".
   (10) Click "OK" button.
   (11) Select "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fujitsu Takamisawa\Serial".
   (12) Click "Registry" of the menubar.
   (13) Open "Export Registry File..." of the system.
   (14) It is input to the column of "File_name" as "9xSetreg".
   (15) Preserve in the same folder as "disk4". 

   Attention:
     * The install method is the same of the case there to be no initial value data. 
     * Select the following thing by the version of Windows in the step (11). 
          Windows9x/Me
           : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fujitsu Takamisawa\Serial"
          WindowsNT4.0
           : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\FidmousP\Parameters"
          Windows2000/XP,Windows98/Me/NT4.0(User mode Driver)
           : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fujitsu Takamisawa\FIDTSERV"
     * Select the following thing by the version of Windows in the step (14). 
          Windows9x/Me
           : "9xSetreg"
          WindowsNT4.0
           : "NTSetreg"
          Windows2000/XP,Windows98/Me/NT4.0(User mode Driver)
           : "Fidinst"
     * Select the following thing by the version of Windows in the step (15). 
          Windows9x/Me/NT4.0    
           : "disk4"
          Windows2000/XP,Windows98/Me/NT4.0(User mode Driver)
           : "disk2"
     * The initial value data cannot be made in the case to add secondary. 

4. Attention in use of a Touch panel driver

* In case of WindowsNT4.0, Touch panel driver can't be used with the Serial mouse together.

* In case of WindowsNT4.0, An error message is indicated in the event log. Serial driver indicates 
  this error. Therefore, It doesn't have an influence with the operation of Touch panel. 
  When it isn't made to indicate an event log error, Use the user mode driver. 

* Touch operation can't be done under the condition that application doesn't work. 
  With Non Plug and Play touch panel driver for Windows2000/XP and User mode driver, such as a thing 
  before a log-in and the "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" rest .

* Plug and Play touch panel driver for Windows95,98,Me can't operate a touch panel if a PS/2 mouse 
  isn't connected by the PC of the use.  

* Without connecting other pointing device to the PC, when only Non Plug and Play Touch panel driver 
  for Windows2000/XP is used . Mouse cursor isn't sometimes indicated. Mouse cursor can be indicated 
  with the following process. Or, use a Plug and Play Touch panel driver. 

   (1) Open "Control panel" of the system.
   (2) Double click "Accessibility Options" icon.
   (3) Select "Mouse" tag.
   (4) Check it in "Use MouseKeys". 
   (5) Click "OK" or "Apply" button.

* The installation of the Plug and Play driver is necessary in each port. Therefore Plug and Play 
  Touch Panel driver may stop working when a port is changed after the installation.
  Install a driver in that port again in that case.

* When the connection port (Serial connector) of the device is changed. Change it under the condition 
  which the power off of the PC. Right after Plug and Play device install. Problem may occur in the 
  system when a port is changed with the power on of the PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
