This is a reference for the Compex RL2000 PCI Configuration Utility, Easyset.exe.

Easyset v4.14 supports the following LAN adapters:-
					
		PCI --  RL2000-PCI Rev.A1 up
		ISA --  EN2000 (all models and revisions)
		ISA --  ENET16/FL ( all models and revisions)


This utility, when use on Compex RL2000-PCI network adapter will let you
change the following:-

     All the options are described briefly below.

           a) Boot Protocol
              This option specifies the boot protocol when a boot PROM
              is used.

           b) Log File
              This command line option save the EEPROM contents and 
	      hardware settings to a log file easily.  
              (For PCI network adapter only)


  ***** Other options below are for your information only. **************
     These options are supported on ISA network adapters;
        EN2000 and ENET16/FL only.

          c) I/O Base
             The valid I/O base address are 0x240, 0x280, 0x2C0,
             0x300, 0x320, 0x340 and 0x360.

             (For PCI adapter, this option cannot be changed. 
              I/O base address is assigned by PCI BIOS.)


          d) IRQ
             Set the network adapter IRQ. The number selected should be
             free and not used or pre-assigned to another adapter.   

          NOTE:
             :- Do not select IRQ 10, 11, 12 and 15 for card in 8-bit slot.
   	     (For PCI adapter, IRQ number is auto-assigned by PCI BIOS.)


          e) Cable Type
               There are 2 supported cable type.
               :- Twisted pair (TPI)
               :- Thin Ethernet (BNC)
  
          f) PROM base Address
             It specifies the starting address of the boot
             PROM. The supported address range is from 0xC800:0 and up to
             0xDC00:0.
             (For PCI network adapter, PROM base address is assigned by PCI BIOS.)

          g) Operating Mode ( For ENET16/FL adapter only)
             There are two operating mode.
               :- I/O mode
               :- Shared Memory mode      

          h) Good Link
             This option is set to Enabled. 

          i) Late IO-16
             This option is set to Disabled. Do not enable it.

          j) Late CHRDY
             This option is set to Disabled. Set to Enable only if you
             want to make the adapter more compatible with the following
             chipsets:
               :- MX83C305FC, MX83C306FC
               :- SL82C461, SL82C465, SL82C362SX
               :- Suntac 62C251-A, Suntac 62C203-A
               :- M1414A1, M1217A1 (ALI)
           

           k) Default Hardware Settings
              This command line option save the default hardware settings to
              the network adapter easily.  The following are the default
              settings:
                :- * I/O Base      : 280h
                :- * IRQ           : 10
                :- * Cable Type    : TPI
                :- * PROM          : Disable
                :- Boot Protocol   : Netware RPL / IBM LAN Server

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
