 The current driver in this distribution disk will not work on motherboard
 with PCI BIOS specifications earlier than 2.0.
 For such PCI BIOS version, the alternative is to use the default NE2000
 driver from Novell NetWare OS/2 Requester disk.
 See "Installing NE2000 driver" below.

 IBM OS/2 v2.xx, IBM OS/2 Warp and Warp Connect v3.xx
 -----------------------------------------------------
    To install the RL2000 OS/2 ODI driver, the NetWare OS/2 Requester
    files should have been already installed. Please refer to the
    NetWare Requester for OS/2 installation documentation for more
    detailed information.

    Below is the procedures to properly install OS/2 ODI driver:

    1. In the Novell folder, choose the Install icon.

    2. The NetWare Workstation for OS/2 Installation Utility dialog box
       appears. From the Installation pull-down menu, choose "Requester on
       workstation" option.

    3. The Set Target Directory box appears. Click the OK button to continue.

    4. From the Requester Installation dialog box, choose "Only Copy ODI LAN
       Driver Files" option and click the OK button.

    5. The Copy ODI LAN Driver Files dialog box appears. Insert driver
       diskette into floppy drive and select "Copy all the drivers on the disk"
       option. Click OK button to copy the driver and the neccessary files
       from the driver diskette.

    6. Follow Novell Installation's instrustions to complete the installation.


 Installing NE2000 driver
 ------------------------

 To install the NE2000 OS/2 ODI driver, the NetWare OS/2 Requester files
 should have been already installed. Please refer to the NetWare
 Requester for OS/2 installation documentation for more detailed
 information.

 Below is the procedures to properly install NE2000 OS/2 ODI driver:

    1. In the Novell folder, choose the Install icon.

    2. The NetWare Workstation for OS/2 Installation Utility dialog box
       appears. From the Installation pull-down menu, choose "Requester on
       workstation" option.

    3. The Set Target Directory box appears. Click the OK button to continue.

    4. From the Requester Installation dialog box, choose "Only Copy ODI LAN
       Driver Files" option and click the OK button.

    5. The Copy ODI LAN Driver Files dialog box appears. Insert NetWare OS/2
       Requester 'WSDRV_1' diskette into floppy drive and select
       "Copy all the drivers on the disk" option. Click OK button to copy
       the driver and the neccessary files from the driver diskette.

    6. Run EasySet utility in DOS prompt to view the I/O base address and
       interrupt level of the RL2000 PCI network adapter. Record the hardware
       settings.

    7. Edit the NET.CFG file in \NETWARE directory to add in the hardware
       settings, PORT and INT.
                e.g
                        LINK DRIVER NE2000
                        PORT  E000
                        INT   10
			Frame Ethernet_802.2

    8. View the CONFIG.SYS file and make sure the NetWare-supported LAN
       adapter driver with the name of the OS/2 ODI driver NE2000.SYS
       For example:
                    DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NE2000.SYS

       Below is a sample load sequence in the CONFIG.SYS file to start
       the OS/2 NetWare Requester.

		REM ---NetWare Requester Statements Begin ---
		DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\LSL.SYS
		RUN=C:\NETWARE\DDAEMON.EXE
                DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NE2000.SYS       <---- OS/2 ODI driver
		DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\IPX.SYS
		DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NWREQ.SYS
		IFS=DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NWIFS.IFS
		RUN=DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NWDAEMON.EXE

    9. Shutdown and reboot the system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
