Installing Display Drivers for Windows 3.1x
Now you can install ASUS S3 series display drivers
for Windows 3.1x under Windows 95, Windows 3.1 and DOS.

Install from Windows 95
1.      Boot up Windows 95.
2.      Insert the Installation CD into your CD-ROM.
3.      When the Installation Shell window appears, select your language and
        Install Windows 3.1 Display Driver option.
4.      Type path of your Windows directory if needed.
5.      The installation program will copy all files and setup your Windows 3.1.
6.      Shutdown Windows 95, then plug the ASUS S3 card into your system.
7.      Start Windows 3.1.

Install from Windows 3.1
1.      Start Windows 3.1.
2.      Insert the Installation CD into your CD-ROM.
3.      Execute the SETUP.EXE in root directory of CD drive.
4.      When the Installation Shell window appears, select your language and
        Install Windows 3.1 Display Driver option.
5.      The installation program will copy all files and setup your Windows 3.1.
6.      Shutdown Windows 3.1, then plug the ASUS S3 card into your system.
7.      Start Windows 3.1.
NOTE:   If you have pluged ASUS S3 series card but not installed the ASUS
        display driver before starting Windows 3.1, you must make sure that
        the used display driver is VGA. This is the limit of Microsoft
        Windows 3.1.

Install from DOS
1.      Insert the Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2.      Change directory to D:\WIN31(assume your CD-ROM drive is letter D)
3.      Type INSTALL.
4.      Type path of your Windows directory if needed.
5.      The installation program will copy all files and setup your Windows 3.1.
6.      Make sure that your ASUS S3 series card have been pluged in system.
        Then start Windows 3.1.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
